Founded and represented by Cambodia, P.R. China, Lao PDR, Myanmar, Thailand, and Vietnam, MI’s strategies are aligned with the core tenets of the GMS Cooperation Program Strategic Framework 2030, ASEAN Economic Community, and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
MI supports these frameworks through the implementation of projects across the areas of Agricultural Development and Commercialization, Trade and Investment Facilitation, and Sustainable Energy and Environment, while addressing issues of social inclusion and vulnerability, digital economy and innovation, and labor mobility to cement holistic and sustainable development impacts in the subregion and beyond.
IT Support Officer, Finance and Operations Department,
Reporting to the General Services Supervisor the IT Officer is responsible for providing, monitoring, maintaining the MI computer systems and networks in an effective and efficient manner to ensure maximum access to and implementation of IT services. This will include installing and configuring computer systems, diagnosing hardware/software faults, and solving technical and applications problems.
Main deliverables, responsibilities and tasks

Provision of technical troubleshooting support that enables reliable and efficient IT and audio-visual systems usage throughout the MI Khon Kaen facility
All IT software and hardware assets managed through traceable documented records and replacement cycles routinely enacted
Main responsibilities and tasks
Install and configure computer hardware operating systems and applications, and ensure that all assets are responsibly maintained
Oversee the functioning of core system and network requirements such as backups and disaster recovery, and provide technical expertise to diagnose and solve hardware/software problems
Set up and monitor a security system to prevent unauthorized access
Manage and maintain shared folders
Monitor the use of MI computer and communication systems to ensure proper use
Oversee the development, implementation, installation, testing and evaluating of applications software
Recommend repair, upgrade, and/or replacement of computer hardware and software.
Build and maintain vendor relationships, and work with the Procurement Officer to manage the purchase of all software, hardware and other IT supplies
Identify and prepare hardware for disposal when appropriate
Train MI staff on the use and operation of MI computer, audio-visual and information systems and provideexpert technical support when required
Set up new user’s account and profiles and deal with password issues
Investigate user problems and needs, identify their source and determine possible solutions
Work with CKM colleagues to help implement internal systems
Any other reasonable task requested by management.
Required qualifications, skills and experience
Essential
Bachelor degree in information technology, computer studies or related field
Minimum of four years practical experience in IT systems and management
Solid knowledge of database software and IT hardware including application and troubleshooting
Proficient user of all Microsoft Office applications, and proficient user of a range of IT and Audio-Visual hardware
Proven ability to effectively train and explain IT concepts to non-IT literate colleagues
Proven skills in organization and prioritization of tasks and responsibilities
Proven ability to communicate in English language in written and spoken form
Proven ability to work in a team and to coordinate with others
Willingness to live and work in Khon Kaen
Willingness to travel within the GMS if required
Desirable
Skills in any of the GMS country languages
