About the Organization
The Sustainable Rice Platform e.V. (SRP) is a global multi‐stakeholder alliance comprising over 100 institutional members from the public, private, research, civil society, and the financial sector. SRP is registered as a not-for-profit member association working to transform the global rice sector by improving smallholder livelihoods, reducing the social, environmental and climate footprint of rice production, and by offering the global rice market an assured supply of sustainably produced rice.
SRP works together with its members and partners to transform the global rice sector. SRP promotes resource-use efficiency and climate change resilience in rice systems (both on-farm and throughout value chains) and pursues voluntary market transformation initiatives by developing sustainable production standards, indicators, incentive mechanisms, and outreach mechanisms to boost wide-scale adoption of climate-smart, sustainable best practices among small farmers. www.sustainablerice.org
Terms of Reference (ToR) - Finance Manager
Organization: Sustainable Rice Platform e.V.
Location: AIA Sathorn Building – St. Louis BTS Station
Reports to: Director of Finance / Executive Director / Secretary-General
Duration: Permanent Contract
Start Date: Immediate Contract
1. Purpose of the Role:
The Finance Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the financial operations of the international association across multiple jurisdictions. This includes ensuring regulatory compliance, financial reporting, donor reporting, budgeting, and strategic financial planning in alignment with international best practices and funding partner requirements.
2. Key Responsibilities:
a. Financial Management & Reporting
- Prepare consolidated financial statements in accordance with IFRS or GAAP.
- Monitor and manage multi-currency cash flow and banking operations across countries.
- Prepare internal and external financial reports, including for donors, partners, and the Board.
- Oversee monthly and annual closings.
b. Donor & Grant Financial Compliance
- Manage grant budgets and financial reporting in accordance with donor agreements (e.g., EU, ISEAL Code Compliance, UN agencies).
- Track fund utilization, ensure eligible expenditures, and coordinate audits or donor reviews.
- Support proposal budgeting and donor contract negotiations.
c. Budgeting & Forecasting
- Lead the annual budgeting process in collaboration with program and regional offices.
- Develop quarterly financial forecasts and variance analyses.
d. Internal Controls & Risk Management
- Design and maintain internal control systems for financial integrity and compliance.
- Ensure proper documentation, approval workflows, and policy adherence across all offices.
- Identify financial risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
e. Regulatory Compliance & Audit
- Ensure compliance with statutory obligations in all operational jurisdictions (e.g., tax filings, registrations).
- Coordinate internal and external audits (including donor-specific audits).
f. Team Management & Capacity Building
- Supervise the finance team across multiple offices or regions.
- Provide training and support to program staff on financial procedures and donor compliance.
3. Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Professional certification (CPA, ACCA, or equivalent) required.
- Minimum 5–8 years of finance experience in international, nonprofit, or multilateral settings.
- Experience in managing institutional donor funds and international grants.
- Knowledge of international tax regulations and NGO compliance requirements.
4. Skills and Competencies:
- Proficiency in international accounting standards and financial software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Navision, Sage).
- Strong understanding of nonprofit/donor fund accounting.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and cross-cultural management skills.
- Ability to work across time zones and with diverse teams.
5. Language Requirements:
- Fluent in English (written and spoken)
