Plan International Thailand Job Advertisement: Intern for Regional communication

Position: Intern for Regional communication
Assignment duration: 6 Months Contract.
Duty station: Bangkok
JOB BACKGROUND:
Plan International is an independent development and humanitarian organisation that advances children’s rights and equality for girls. We strive for a just world, working together with children, young people, our supporters and partners. We have been building powerful partnerships for children for over 80 years and are now active in more than 70 countries, including 14 in Asia.
Our programmes operate at multiple levels to advance children’s rights and tackle the root causes of discrimination, exclusion and vulnerability across key areas, including health, education, livelihoods, disaster risk management and protection.
Effective communication plays a key role in Plan International achieving its goals and objectives at every level; from programs to advocacy to media outreach to brand awareness.
The intern will support the achievement of the Asia Region Strategic Plan goals, and delivery of global, regional and country-level communications objectives by using media, public relations, digital communication, and brand awareness to promote Plan International’s advocacy priorities, help raise children’s voices, document our programs, progress, and inform key stakeholders and the public about our work.
Under the supervision of the Regional Head of Media/ Strategic Communications Manager, the intern will help to ensure Plan International Asia is visible, engaging, respected and active through media monitoring on online channels and through external, public engagements; has a well-known brand, and is working towards a clearly defined set of goals that supports our strategic global vision.
TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Traffic to Plan International web content and social media pages should increase.
Increased production of content in line with events and advocacy opportunities.
Strengthened internal and external communications, with a focus on sharing of events, updates and programme resources.
Key stakeholders in Asia aware of Plan International’s achievements and initiatives
Plan International maintains strong presence in Asia through participation in key events, speaking engagements and active collaboration with key journalists and media
Plan International’s presence is upheld through media monitoring on national, regional and global platforms and channels.
Research on possible social media influencers to engage with for asia Hub and Country Offices will be developed.
CCCD, child protection and gender equality principles are reflected in all videos and materials produced.
Positive feedback on projects and work from Global/Regional/Country Office colleagues and other stakeholders.
