Need project coordinator as per the contract.
As a temporary contractor You will help the foundation to establish a plastic waste disposal project in Bangkok's Ladprao Canal. The foundation is looking for applicants to provide the following services To support the establishment, collection, and segregation operations for the marine waste collection system in the Lat Phrao canal from mid March to 30 April 2020, for a period of 6 weeks from mid March to End of April And may lead to long-term contracts

    1. Helping to survey the location for local waste separation And gather information about related expenses such as Monthly rent, utility bills, etc. 
    2. Procurement and purchase of local equipment needed for collection and separation, including transportation options (boats and vehicles). 
    3. Assisting in the installation of 2 waste collection points in Ladprao ladders Coordinate with manufacturers and local governments and community leaders. 
    4. Assist in establishing a separation place to collect and sort out waste water, including the collection of recyclable materials. 
    5. Contact and coordinate with the BMA. And Ladprao and community officials to suggest project goals And identify potential short-term and / or long-term support staff as appropriate. 
    6. Help translate Thai-English as needed. 
    7. Other work as may be requested

• Must be able to travel to the neighboring Ladprao community regularly Familiarity with the community is useful but not necessary.
• If having English speaking skills, will be an advantage.

POSITION: Recycling Operations Manager– TerraCycle Thai Foundation

 

 

Terracycle Thai Foundation is seeking aRecycling Operations Manager Thai Operations Manager, an experienced Operations manager in the recycling field to oversee management of multiple marine waste capture systems installed and operated in river / canal sites, initially in Bangkok and Samut Sakhon. Reporting directly to the Thai Foundation Director, the Operations Manager will lead and oversee small teams at each site where staff will collect marine waste and conduct sorting for recycle materials to insure professional and efficient processes. Additionally, the Operations Manager will oversee maintenance and repairs of marine waste capture devices, operations of sorting area sites. Under the direction of the Foundation Director, the Operations Manager will also be responsible for basic administration and budget management of the Operations team activities. As the project expands, the Operations Manager will assist the Director to identify and set up new project sites in Bangkok and other provinces.    

 

The Operations Manager will be a practical problem solver, that solves problems logically and efficiently. They will also be a brand ambassador and advocate for responsible plastic use and recycling. In addition to working as an integral part of the Thai Foundation management team, the Operations Manager will regularly assist the Director to engage with leaders from local communities, including representatives of NGOs, businesses and relevant government agencies.   

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist to establish and launch operations of the Thai Foundation in Bangkok and other provinces;
  • Oversee the efficient and effective day-to-day operation of the Manage local field teams which conduct Thai Foundation's river / canal cleanup initiatives, including: installation, maintenance and repairs of marine waste capture devices; sorting of marine waste collections; separation and processing recyclable materials;
  • Responsible for management and oversight of sorting site, including maintenance and equipment
  • Recruit, train and manage local operations site teams to implement Thai Foundation project.
  • Establish good working relationships and collaborative arrangements with local community and business groups to help achieve the programmatic and funding goals of the organization
  • Support the Director to implement strong worker safety standards and best practices for carrying out the Thai Foundation's mission
  • Assist Director to manage local operations budget, including assistance with budget preparation and financial reporting
  • Travel on an "as needed" basis to provinces in which Thai Foundation operates in order to insure productive, cost effective project management.
  • Perform all acts, duties and obligations as may be given by the Thai Foundation Director consistent with responsibilities of the Operations Manager position
  • Record and verify daily collection reports.
  • Manage storage, transport and selling of recyclable materials.

Requirements

  • Thai National
  • Speak / Write Thai
  • Speak / Write English Basic English required
  • Able to work outdoors and perform labor duties
  • Drivers License
  • Basic computer skills

Principal location: Bangkok, with frequent travel to the provinces, initially Samut Sakhon province.
