About the TIJ and Project

In February 2020, the TIJ co-organized the 2^nd ASEAN Conference on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice (ACCPCJ) with a view to promote the regional dialogue and to strengthen cooperation among relevant stakeholders in addressing cyber threats. Following such initiative, the outbreak of the pandemic increasingly highlights a need for concrete actions towards the fight against cybercrime as rising number of people are vulnerable to the impact of online threats, especially children and women. In this light, the TIJ plans to undertake a research project on cybercrime landscape in Thailand with an aim to review the overall situation in order to identify gaps, challenges, and solutions in the country. It is expected that output of the study could be
a comprehensive ground for relevant stakeholders to respond to the problem of cybercrime together.

Responsibilities

• Conduct desk review, data collection and provide support in drafting reports;
• Liaise with key government and non-government partners and institutions, coordinate and communicate with potential stakeholders in relations to cybercrime data collection;
•  Assist in the interview process and study visits; and
• Assist in organizing meetings, workshops, trainings, and other administrative functions related to the research project.  

Qualifications

Essential

• Minimum Bachelor Degree in law, international relations, social sciences or other relevant discipline;
• At least one year of professional experience in policy coordination and/or conducting research, preferably in the field of cybercrime, criminal justice system, social development or other relevant areas;
• Proficiency in Thai and English languages (written and verbal);
• Willingness and ability to travel domestically which may include overnight and weekends on occasion.

Skills/Abilities

• Excellent coordination and interpersonal skills;
• Proven ability to work effectively both independently and in a team-based environment;
• flexible and adaptable; and
• Strong multi-tasking and organizational skills.

Terms of Employment

Please note that this position is open to Thai Nationals only.

This contract is fixed-term contract (October 2020 - May 2021)

Remuneration

Monthly salary range for this position is from 25,000 to 40,000 THB, depending on qualifications and experience.
