USAID Counter Trafficking in Persons virtual online launch of activities
Job Description
Position title: Consultant to organize virtual online launch of activities
Location: Bangkok, Thailand
Reports to: Chief of Party
The USAID Asia and Thailand Counter Trafficking in Persons (CTIP) projects are hosting an online launch of activities on the 22nd of January 2021.
Background and Theme
The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) is dedicated to reducing forced labor and trafficking in persons (TIP). To support this objective, USAID funds programming across the globe focused on combatting TIP. Two examples of such programming include the USAID Asia Counter Trafficking in Persons (USAID Asia CTIP) Program (2016-2021) – a five-year, $21.5 million activity that promotes regional collaboration and response to TIP – and the USAID Thailand Counter Trafficking in Persons (USAID Thailand CTIP) Program (2017-2022), a five-year, $10 million activity specifically focused on reducing forced labor and TIP in Thailand. These two projects collaborate closely to achieve results, for example, through building partnerships with private sector companies, such as food and beverage companies and technology companies, to pursue mutual goals to reduce worker vulnerability to unfair labor in Asia.
The USAID CTIP programs aim to showcase their achievements in partnership development and private sector engagement (PSE) through a 3-hour virtual event to take place on January 22, 2021. The event will feature keynote speakers, presentations, and panel discussions, and highlight a largescale partnership implemented through the USAID CTIP programs to reduce vulnerability to TIP in the Thai seafood industry.
