The Asia Regional Office is located in Chiang Mai, Thailand.

Diakonia Asia Regional Office is recruiting a Regional PME and Programme Development Officer

 

Placement: Chiang Mai, Thailand, international travel will be required.

Duration: Permanent

Planned starting date: February 2021

Report to: Regional Director

 

Are you the one we´re looking for?

We believe that you are a skilled and experienced to provide planning, monitoring, evaluation and programme development support to projects and programmes implemented in Asia. You will be working in the regional office to support the Regional Director, the Asia Senior Management Team as well as programme colleagues working in Bangladesh, Cambodia, Myanmar, Sri Lanka and Thailand. This includes working with the administrative and international departments in the head office in Stockholm, Sweden as the link between regional PME and the global PME structure of Diakonia.

 

The work is under delegation and supervision by the Regional Director and part of the regional team.

 

Main Responsibilities

  • Ensure project staff implement the project management, monitoring and evaluation in accordance with Diakonias’ PME guidelines and instruction in the PME handbook.
  • Provide technical supports, PME guidance and materials, including capacity building for project staff to ensure the quality of project monitoring and evaluation at the country level
  • Facilitate knowledge management and sharing among the country offices within/across the region
  • Assist the project team in drafting and reviewing proposals and other relevant documents from the HO, Regional and Country offices upon the request, and provide substantive feedback and inputs to the team.  
  • Support the country team for project, programme, and annual reporting according to donor’s requirements.

 

Competence and Experience:

  • Bachelor degree or higher in relevant field.
  • Experience in programme development and implementation including planning, monitoring, reporting and evaluation activities.
  • Thematic knowledge and experience of working with Human Rights, Democracy, Gender Justice or Environment.
  • Distinct ability to think strategically and conceptually
  • Experience in facilitating workshops.
  • Excellent English writing and speaking skills
  • Competent in the use of IT applications.
  • Good social skills and experience from working in a multicultural setting.

 

This position is open to Thai nationals and Thailand based expatriates.
