Position Summary – Activity Director/Chief of Party for Donor Program

CORE International, a woman-owned international management consulting firm founded in 1984, is searching for a qualified and experienced Activity Director/Chief of Party to implement the three-year Enhancing Equality in Energy for Southeast Asia (EEE for SEA) Activity for the Regional Development Mission for Asia (RDMA) of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) in Bangkok, Thailand (USAID/RDMA). The purpose of the EEE for SEA Activity is to enhance energy sector outcomes by improving gender equality in the Southeast Asia energy sector workforce.

The Activity Director/Chief of Party (COP) will serve as the primary point of contact for CORE International’s Enhancing Equality in Energy for Southeast Asia (EEE for SEA) Activity with our Client - USAID, stakeholders and partners. The key roles and responsibilities of the Activity Director/COP include the following:

Responsibilities include:

• Provide strategic vision, leadership, and management of the Activity, especially guiding the team to discern constraints and design solutions to promote gender equality, advance women’s careers in energy, and support HR policies for greater recruitment, retention, and promotion of women within energy entities.

• Supervise all activities including stakeholder engagement, communications and outreach, capacity building and training, engagement with participating country bilateral missions, and engagement with the regional energy sector community.

• Manage the Bangkok field office staffed with 10 technical specialists and administrative personnel, including a Deputy Director/Deputy COP, to ensure that the field office serves as the focal point for delivery of all activities and results. This includes mobilizing subcontractors, home office specialists and short term experts.

• Supervise the performance of all team members, ensure quality assurance/quality control on all work products, and monitor the performance of all technical assistance and capacity-building activities (including the performance of all team members) to ensure adherence with the approved work plan and schedule for the EEE for SEA Activity.

• Serve as technical lead on the design and execution of all tasks required to achieve the Activity’s objectives

Qualifications include:

• Master’s Degree or higher in relevant field (Business, Economics, Etc.)

Fluency in English

• Experience in managing international development programs, including demonstrated sensitivity to local cultural and political context, cooperation among other donors and empowerment issues into donor programs

• Minimum ten years of experience in program management with experience in Southeast Asia

• Relationship and previous experience working directly with partner governments, donors, and the private sector in Southeast Asia
