Mental Health and Psychosocial Support Counsellor
Duty Station: Mae Sariang town, Mae Hong Son province
Work locations: Mae Sariang and Sob-Moei Districts with visits in the field
Duration: 10 months with potential for extension
Salary range: 25,000-30,000 THB (+benefits)

Main Responsibilities/Duties
Oversee psychosocial support program activities implemented in project target locations.
Plan and implement mental health assessments/screening to identify persons in need of psychosocial support in target locations.
Train, monitor and provide technical support for psychosocial support volunteers to conduct individual and group counselling sessions effectively for people in need.
Coordination with clinical supervisors to provide required medical treatment for the identified individuals with severe mental health problems
Coordinate with clinical team on needs to refer to Thai hospital for more advance treatment.
Plan and implement community awareness raising activities on mental health and linked SGBV issues in project target locations.
Ensure SGBV victims are receiving required treatment and counseling services as per the standard protocols and procedures.
Data collection and reporting of required information linked to MHPSS activities in the target locations a regular basis as per requirements by the project..
Essential Qualifications/Skills:
Thai national with Psychiatric Nurse degree or Nursing degree with complementing courses and studies in relevant fields to support the responsibilities of this position.
2-3 years of experience in working with mental health either in hospital or through (I)NGO or similar.
Experience with PSEA and managing of SGBV victims, preferably in refugee or other humanitarian setting.
Proven experience in applying counselling to patients with mental health conditions.
Previous experience in training community health care workers on mental health outreach or awareness raising in the community.
Strong in analytical thinking, prioritization of tasks and problem-solving skills
Meticulous and detail oriented
Fluent (spoken, written) in both Thai and Sgaw Karen.
Intermediate/Good level of written and spoken English an asset
Starting date: As soon as possible.
