Position Title: Storytelling Content Editor – Consultant

GENERAL
Winrock International is a nonprofit organization that works with people in the United States and around the world to empower the disadvantaged, increase economic opportunity, and sustain natural resources. To strategically address the barriers to combating trafficking in persons (TIP) in Thailand, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) has awarded Winrock International the USAID Thailand Counter Trafficking in Persons (USAID Thailand CTIP) program, which aims to reduce TIP and better protect the rights of trafficked persons in Thailand in 2017. Winrock and its implementing partners works to reduce demands and incentives for trafficked labor, empower at-risk populations to safeguard their rights, and strengthen protection systems for survivors.
POSITION SUMMARY
Throughout the life of the project, USAID Thailand CTIP compiled stories, voices of migrants, survivors, and other vulnerable populations living and working in Thailand. The project plans to launch a Virtual Storytelling Photo Exhibition to amplify these stories and showcase the project activities to public. Therefore, USAID Thailand CTIP is seeking a contract service to edit/re-write these stories and content from migrant workers for the virtual exhibition. The Storytelling Content Editor is expected to digest, compose, or edit the stories or information in creative writing styles. Guided by USAID Thailand CTIP Communications Team, the successful candidate will be working with an exhibition platform developer to ensure that the stories and content are well presented online.
RESPONSIBITIES
Draft storytelling pieces that tell stories of migrants and project beneficiaries from content and stories provided by the project
Reach out to other organization, partners, grantees in Thailand to gather their stories and edit them as storytelling pieces
Ensure storytelling style/format throughout the work
Compose short paragraphs/write-ups for the online platform such as project
background, exhibition introduction, etc.
Liaise with USAID Thailand CTIP partners to gather additional stories from their activities
**All products are finalized in English for approval. Approved stories and write ups are submitted together with translated version in Thai.

QUALIFICATIONS
Proven professional experience of at least four years in writing and content development for development organization or media
Demonstrated understanding of story fundamentals
Have a keen sense of what makes a story interesting from the audience’s perspective
Fluent in English and outstanding writing skill in Thai
