About the Partnership - The Mekong-Australia Partnership on Transnational Crime (MAP-TNC) is an ambitious program designed to enhance the impact of Australian government efforts to disrupt and prevent crime in the region. It represents a coordinated model of engagement to identify key issues, contribute research and analysis and to harness Australian and regional expertise in addressing TNC issues.

About the role - Through this partnership, we are now recruiting a Deputy Director to lead and deliver program operations and services for MAP-TNC. The role will provide strong Thailand-based support and coordination for the Country Coordinators of Mekong subregions and the technical team from the Bangkok hub. This role is full-time role, based in country (Thailand), until February 2025 reporting to our Program Director.

Program Management:

• Deliver strategic, tactical, and day-to-day support to the Program Director, Technical leads and Country Coordinators

• Provide financial, operational, HR, logistical and contractual services

• Lead the risk management, fraud control and safeguarding for the program

• Manage the Program’s budget and finances as well as recruiting, training and onboarding new Team Members

• Oversee the management of small grants where applicable and as determined by DFAT, including the development of agreements, acquittals, and reporting.

• Manage procurement and subcontracting of suitable service as well as administrative logistical tasks.

Client and Stakeholder Engagement:

• Assist the project team to identify relevant stakeholders, in Mekong Country agencies to be included in Program activities

• Maintain an effective relationship with DFAT and ensure all contractual obligations to DFAT are fulfilled in a timely manner and to a high standard. 

About You:

• Experience leading strategic operations for donor-funded programs in Thailand and/or the Mekong region

• Demonstrated experience providing quality advice to management and delivering services for HR, finance, logistics, risk management, fraud control and safeguarding

• Experience ensuring operations are compliant with policies and procedures

• Strong numerical skills and the ability to develop detailed financial reports.

• Strong relationship building skills and experience building relationships with stakeholders across government, civil society and private organisations

• English and Thai language fluency.
