STATEMENT OF WORK

Sustainable Fish Asia Local Capacity Development Activity

Graphic Designer for Project Activities and Communications Products


 

1. Introduction/Background

The purpose of the USAID Sustainable Fish Asia (SUFIA) Local Capacity Development (LCD) Activity is to facilitate the organizational capacity development of regional fisheries organizations; facilitate and document project co-creation between these organizations and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), leading to USAID-issuance of a Public International Organization (PIO) grant to each organization; and conduct a regional Private Sector Engagement Landscape Assessment of the fisheries sector in Asia. RTI International is the implementing organization for the SUFIA LCD Activity.

This Statement of Work is for a Graphic Designer who will support SUFIA LCD in producing graphics for project reports and communications products.


 

2. Scope of Work

The Graphic Designer (hereby referred to as Consultant) will work with SUFIA LCD’s Project Team and Consultants to develop graphics for various project reports and communications products. Under the SUFIA Project Manager’s direction, the Consultant shall produce infographics and other illustrations and provide layout services for the following project deliverables:

  • Quarterly and Final Reports

  • Capacity Development Activity Communications Products

  • Other communications and presentation materials

Qualifications: At least five years of professional experience. Working experience with USAID fisheries and natural resources projects in Asia-Pacific is preferable.


 


 

3. Period of Performance

The period of performance of this consultancy is between November 1, 2021 and March 31, 2022 (not to exceed a Level of Effort of 40 days). All work must be completed within this time frame. Any modifications or extensions shall be requested through RTI SUFIA’s Project Manager for review and discussion.


 

4. Place of Performance

The Consultant shall perform the work remotely. The Consultant shall be required to meet the SUFIA LCD team and other Consultants online/virtually for meetings to discuss concepts and progress. The Consultant should have their own computing, and virtual office and meeting facilities to perform the tasks.


 

5. Work Requirements

As part of the SUFIA Local Capacity Development Activity, the Consultant shall be responsible for performing the following tasks throughout the various activities over the duration of the consultancy. The following is a list of these tasks:

Project Reports: Consultant shall provide appropriate infographics and layout support of the following reports in consultation with SUFIA LCD team.

  • Quarterly Report for first quarter of FY 2022 activities (October to December 2021).

  • Quarterly Report for second quarter of FY2022 activities (January to March 2022)


 

  • Final Report including third quarter of FY2022 activities (April to June 2022)

Capacity Development Activity Communications Products

  • Provide infographics and layout support of the following:

    • Training Module on Gender Integration in Small-Scale Fisheries in Southeast Asia

    • Field Manual on Gender Integration in Small-Scale Fisheries in Southeast Asia

    • Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) Coffee Table Book

  • Develop posters to promote GESI in small scale fisheries

  • Develop infographics for presentation materials in capacity development activities

Other communications and presentation materials

  • Develop Powerpoint templates for presentations, if necessary

  • Develop infographics and illustrations for articles and other communications materials

 

Meetings: the Graphic Designer Consultant will be asked to attend an induction meeting (October) and short weekly check-in meetings.

7. Acceptance Criteria

The Acceptance of all deliverables will reside with RTI SUFIA Project Manager (PM). Once a deliverable has been submitted, the PM will review and sign off on the approval.

Once the consultancy period is near completion, the graphic designer will provide all the deliverables during this stage as stated above in Sections 5 and 6. The acceptance of these deliverables by the PM will acknowledge acceptance of all deliverables and that the graphic designer has met all assigned tasks.

Any discrepancies involving completion of project tasks or disagreement between SUFIA’s PM and the chosen graphic designer will be referred to RTI’s Asia Regional Office and the RTI Home Office for review and discussion.


 

8. Other Requirements

COMMUNICATIONS

The graphic designer should communicate directly with SUFIA’s Project Manager for all matters relating to the work. There will be a weekly online meeting for progress updates (date and time to be determined later).

CONSULTANT RESPONSIBILITIES

The graphic designer will use their own computer, graphic software, and all related equipment to complete the work. In addition, if there is to be any travel, the graphic designer is responsible for arranging their own travel arrangements to travel to any in-person meetings in Bangkok and use their own computer and other IT equipment to complete the work (any assignment-related travel would be arranged in coordination with RTI according to RTI travel policies, with the Consultant reimbursed for applicable travel costs).

RTI REPRESENTATIVE AND SUPPORT

SUFIA’s Project Manager in Bangkok, Thailand will provide technical oversight and be the main contact point, and to whom deliverables will be submitted.


 

Submission Requirements

  • Capability Statement and Portfolio: Applicants should indicate their capacity to provide the services in this SOW. This information should include past verified performance of similar assignments undertaken and include a contact person for reference (we are not expecting actual reference but only a contact name, e-mail address and phone number of the person that can provide reference). This capability statement should not exceed 2 pages. Anything more than 2 pages will not be reviewed. In addition, please submit a portfolio highlighting past work with your application (submissions without one will not be considered).

  • Professional CV

  • Applicants must submit copies of the following:

    • Personal ID Card/passport info page (for non-Thais in Thailand, a valid work permit)

    • Educational degree certificates
