Role overview
An exciting opportunity to help our Knowledge Evidence and Learning team undertake a study on ‘Measuring Impact for Learning and Empowerment (MILE) experience in VSO programmes in Thailand. In this role, you will work closely with VSO Thailand M&E lead, Global M&E lead, country implementation teams (projects and grants) and Lead Researcher (volunteer). You will support in finalising the data collection tools and apply them in collecting data from individuals and group in VSO Thailand programmes. You will also support in the data analysis and draft the report. This role will mainly be carried out through remote working and engaging through internet and appropriate technology, there may also be occasions where you may have to collect data through face to face interaction with primary actors. We envisage a time commitment of between 14 - 18 hours per week for 2 months.
Skills, knowledge and experience:
• Relevant degree in social science/development studies or related subject.
• Familiarity/experience of working on participatory M&E in the development context
• Experience in participatory research, data collection skills, understanding and use of evaluation methods in international development programmes.
• Good skills and familiarity in web-based applications necessary for producing reports in narrative, tabular, graphic and visual formats.
• Excellent command in written and spoken English and local language(s).
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work in a team
• Respect and commitment to volunteering for development as VSO’s core development methodology.
