Content & Digital Media Consultant

The IOGT-NTO Movement (INM)

Southeast Asia Office (SEAO)

 

Type of contract: Individual consultancy

Expect Start: As soon as possible

Contract Period: 6 months, Starting Nov 2021 – May 2022 (Renewable)

 

Introduction:

 

The IOGT-NTO Movement is currently seeking for qualified individual consultant to our regional office in Southeast Asia.

As Sweden's leading organization working to reduce harms caused by alcohol and other drugs, we offer an opportunity to contribute to a world where people can live a free and rich life. The IOGT-NTO Movement see the use of alcohol and other drugs as development barriers, in order to contribute to the democratic development and reduced poverty. 

Our head quarter is located in Stockholm, Sweden, and beside the regional offices in South-East Asia we also have one in East Africa.  Together with our partners we work with policy advocacy and community development to reduce the harms from alcohol and other drugs. In Southeast Asia we currently support 10 partner organizations in six countries: Thailand, Myanmar, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, and Vietnam.

 

Background and justification:

Digital engagement plays an important role in INM's response to global shifts in the fields of communication, fundraising, advocacy, and development. Use of digital media platforms helps position the INM as a knowledge leader, expands outreach and broadens engagement.

 

Effective use of digital channels for communication of INM’s key messages, through relevant content, experience, and dialogue, allow individuals to connect directly with other individuals or groups, as well as brands and organizations, thus creating valuable relationships with both online and offline supporters.

 

To more effectively use digital communication platforms that will increase effectiveness of digital brand engagement, the INM SEAO needs to engage an individual consultant.

 

 

 

Purpose and objectives:

Under the guidance and supervision of the Communication Officer, the consultant will assist the INM SEAO in (1) development and production of multimedia content to increase media reach & visibility effectiveness, (2) social media in outreach and (3) integrating digital into all aspects of implementation of the SEAO Communications Strategy.

Content Creation

Proactively create editorial content (stories, photos, advocacy images, contests, campaigns, audio, video, infographics, etc.) in cooperation with the Communications Officer and Program Team and adapt for media pitching, web, and social media,

posting daily to respective channels.

 

 

Stories, social media posts, videos, images, infographics, photos posted to digital channels.

Social media management

Continuously update and implement INM

SEAO’s digital engagement strategy.

 

Two-fold increase in followers by end of assignment.

Maintain a web and social media calendar and content plans of content themes and all upcoming coverage schedules according to

the calendar.

Monthly web and social media calendar created and adhered to.

Actively engage with online audiences

through social media channels.

Timely responses to messages and

comments.

Generate and analyze reports on web traffic and KPIs using Google Analytics, Hootsuite,

and other social media focused analytics channels.

Monthly reports.

 

SUPERVISION, WORK RELATIONS & OVERSIGHT

The consultant will report to Communication Officer for direct supervision. They will work in close cooperation with the Program Team, as well as the Regional Director.

PAYMENT CONDITIONS

Remuneration amount will be based on the qualification of the consultant and will be paid monthly upon certification of deliverables.

UNSATISFACTORY PERFORMANCE

Payment of fees to the Contractor under this contractor, including each installment or periodic payment (if any), is subject to the Contractor’s full and complete performance of his or her obligations under this contract with regard to such payment to INM SEAO’s satisfaction.

 

INM SEAO reserves the right to withhold all or a portion of payment if performance is unsatisfactory, if work/outputs is incomplete, not delivered or for failure to meet deadlines. All materials developed will remain the copyright of INM and that INM will be free to adapt and modify them in the future. This ToR is an integral part of the contract (SSA) signed with the consultant.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS OR SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE/ EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

 

Work experience

  • Demonstrated experience in maintaining social media accounts, especially Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, as well as experience with new media executions, preferably with a development organization; knowledge and understanding of local and global digital landscape and trends;

  • Experience with graphic design, ability to create designs for digital media purposes in open-source graphic design programs, such as Canva or/and InDesign.

  • Ability to integrate PR/communication initiatives with social media;

  • Experience developing compelling content to generate response from audiences online;

  • Experience in reporting on qualitative and quantitative analytics.

 

 

Language Proficiency

Fluency in both written and spoken Thai and English is essential.
