Junior Digital Campaigner- Kpop4planet (fan-driven environmental movement)

 

About Kpop4planet

Kpop4planet is a young and fast-growing platform that aims to mobilise international K-pop fans to take part in climate action. Its work encompasses a wide range of digital and offline campaigns to reduce global emissions and keep temperatures within an increase of 1.5C, as mandated by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).

The platform is composed of fandoms worldwide, including in South Korea, Indonesia, Thailand, and the Philippines. Our core values are as such: cooperating with fans from all races, genders, sexualities, and beliefs to achieve climate justice. In other words, Kpop4planet empowers fans to act on the most important global issue right now.

About the role

Kpop4planet is seeking a talented digital all-rounder, preferably some experience in digital communications and campaigns. You will be playing an active role in using the internet to mobilise global citizens, helping the fight against the fossil fuel industry and speeding up the low carbon transition on an international level.

 

The role will support Kpop4planet, the first K-pop fan-driven climate action platform, working closely with our Southeast and East Asia team, focusing specifically on engaging with and mobilising online communities around Korean popular culture across the world.

 

This is an exciting opportunity for a young and highly-driven Junior Digital Campaigner with the ambition to make a real-world difference. As Junior Digital Campaigner, you will be responsible for helping to coordinate digital campaigning and social media analytics work across multiple countries and in various languages.

We welcome and encourage applicants with varied experience from the corporate, startup and non-profit sectors. Non-profit sector experience is not a necessity.

 

 

As Junior Digital Campaigner, you would be responsible for :

 

  • Supporting to develop digital strategies for campaigns in multiple countries and languages, including defining target audiences, platforms, content messaging and creative content.

  • Helping colleagues from Kpop4planet team to implement and report on digital campaigns:

  • Writing copy for graphics, videos and websites, and producing graphics and video content using tools such as Canva and Lumen5.

  • Outreaching to partners and collaborators for campaigns

  • Posting content on a variety of social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, and Tiktok.

  • Setting up ads on social media platforms (especially Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Tiktok) and other online cultural communities

  • Producing campaign reports using tools such as Google Data Studio.

 

  • Work with agency partner(s) and be one of the contact points for traditional and online media.

 

  • Administrative tasks (such as agenda setting, note taking, maintaining libraries and databases, and uploading invoices to the internal expenses platform).

Experience and competencies

 

  • Professional experience is not required but some experience in digital marketing or campaigning is preferable.

  • Experience running social media channels on behalf of an organisation.

  • An eye for design, and familiarity with content creation tools like Canva.

  • The passion and creativity required to experiment constantly.

  • Conversational level of English language

  • The ability to work and learn quickly, both independently and as part of a team, in a fast-paced, international environment.

  • The disposition to work with colleagues in a high-trust global community of peers.

Desirable

  • Strong interest in and understanding of popular culture movements in Asia, including but not limited to K-pop, including labels and acts as well as the cultural significance of their fandoms;

  • Ambition to make a real-world difference using the digital skills and knowledge about the popular Korean culture, especially K-pop

  • Experience or at least interest in setting up ads on social media platforms and search engines.

  • Adaptable and flexible team player.
