Who We Are: 

International Justice Mission (IJM) is a global organization that protects the vulnerable from violence by partnering with government authorities to rescue victims, bring criminals to justice, restore survivors, and strengthen criminal justice systems so they protect the vulnerable from violence and abuse long-term.  IJM is a global team of lawyers, social workers, caseworkers and other professionals.  IJM has 19 field offices across the globe, including multiple offices in Southeast Asia.

 

In Thailand, IJM Foundation provides support to Thai authorities to eliminate forced labor and human trafficking from the Thai fishing and seafood industries. IJM lawyers, caseworkers, social workers, advocates and other professionals support Thai law enforcement, social services, prosecutors and the courts to identify and prosecute cases of forced labor and human trafficking crimes, and restore labor trafficking survivors to safety and strength.

 

The Need: 
IJM is seeking an IT Support Technician for its Bangkok Field Office (FO). The IT Technician, Thailand manages the FO’s  information technology systems and ensures the continuous availability and reliability of network systems and IT services that are compliant with the organization’s standards and policies. The IT Technician, Thailand works with the Bangkok office’s Senior Manager, Administration and IJM’s APAC Regional Global Technology Solutions (GTS) Specialist to ensure that IT support and training is given to all staff and equipment are functional and readily available for staff use anytime anywhere.  

Key Result Areas: 

The success of this role is measured by the following Key Result Areas:

⦁    This position will provide excellent management and maintenance of technology systems and networks in the Bangkok Field Office aiming for the highest functionality by regularly coordinating with the Regional GTS to ensure that the IJM Headquarters GTS standards are being complied with at all times.

⦁    This position will provide pro-active technology system support services to the staff in the office and during outside engagement with partners to ensure appropriate and safe usage of IT infrastructure.   

Roles and Responsibilities:

⦁    Set up and manage the FO’s information technology systems, including:
⦁    Set up/Install/Update computers (including all computer-based electronic systems) and other communications (e.g. PABX system) network according to IJM headquarters IT standards.
⦁    Ensure continuous availability and reliability of network services, including performing related preventive maintenance and repair procedures in coordination with IT service provider.
⦁    Periodically evaluate network performance and recommend improvements as necessary.
⦁    Ensure proper maintenance and/or repair of computer resources, including keeping updated inventory listing of assets.
⦁    Ensure FO Shared Drive, E-mail, Internet and other IT systems are operational.
⦁    Train network users on the proper use and care of IT resources.
⦁    Train network users in prevention and awareness on current IT security issues. 
⦁    Utilize Helpdesk ticketing system through Freshdesk, in coordination with IJM’s Regional IT Specialist.
⦁    Manage and direct repairs to qualified contractors as needed, in coordination with IJM’s Regional IT Specialist. 
⦁    Empower network users to perform basic IT troubleshooting.
⦁    Remind all network users of importance of compliance with headquarters and field office IT standards and policies, including Helpdesk Ticketing systems, social media posts, etc.

⦁    Provide other IT support services as follows:
⦁    Facilitate purchase of IT assets and manage IT supplies, including toners, batteries, monitors, etc.
⦁    Ensure CCTV, PA system, Conference Room System and PABX system are operational.
⦁    Maintenance of magnetic door system and record issuance of security-related cards for magnetic door.
⦁    Provide technical support on audio/video interview related activities.
⦁    Provide technical software support for finance departments software.
⦁    Provide technical support to projects/activities that involve use of specialized IT equipment or software/application.
⦁    Facilitate the setting up of work stations for new hires and incoming Interns, Fellows.
⦁    Perform other related duties as required and necessary.


Supervisory:
This position reports to the Senior Manager, Administration, and works closely with IJM’s APAC Regional GTS Specialist.  The position does not supervise or manage any other positions.

Education & Experience: 

⦁    Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Information Technology or any related computer course from an accredited university; 
⦁    Working knowledge in computer hardware and software maintenance and troubleshooting;

Technical Competencies: 
⦁    Proficiency in Windows OS (Windows 7 and Windows 10);
⦁    Proficiency in Hardware and Software issues troubleshooting;
⦁    Proficiency in PABX maintenance and repair is an advantage but not required;
⦁    Proficiency in CCTV, Electronic Security access control is an advantage but not required;
⦁    Working experience using any helpdesk platform is an advantage;
⦁    Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop or later is an advantage but not required;
⦁    Proficiency in Windows Movie Maker and/or other similar applications;
⦁    Experience in Audio/Video recording concept and assembly;
⦁    Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications specifically Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint;
⦁    Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills; and
⦁    Fluency in oral and written communication in English and Thai.
