Kindernothilfe e.V. (KNH) is a non-governmental organization found in 1959. KNH works with local non-governmental organizations and their networks in 30 countries in Africa, Asia, Latin America and Eastern Europe to realize and protect children’s rights. In Germany, KNH engages in awareness raising, education and advocacy relating to development policies and particularly to the implementation of the Child Rights Convention.

In Thailand, Kindernothilfe is registered as the regional office based in Chiang Mai province. KNH Thailand works in partnership with local organizations in Thailand and Myanmar with programs and projects that aim at improving the rights of vulnerable and marginalized children and to help them develop their full potential. We focus on long-term results by helping people help themselves, to overcome dependencies, and to strengthen self-reliance. We promote an effective form of support that makes a difference by creating a lasting impact in children’s lives. To achieve those, we practice a close dialogue with the partners, we carry out regular field visits and strengthen partners capacities in various aspects.

Goal of this position: Ensure that Local Partners have the capacity to plan and implement projects in compliance with the Child Rights Approach and KNH quality standards

Duties and responsibilities:

• Capacity building - Conduct and/or coordinate local partners’ capacity development activities
• Project monitoring - Give feedback, recommendations and follow up on project implementation and progress on a regular basis
• Project reviews - Support local partners in their program analysis and facilitate the problem identification and solution finding
• Prepare and submit reports and plans in line with the KNH standards and formats to Country manager

Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Sociology, International development or other related fields.
• Understanding of the rights-based approach in women, children and community development will be an advantage.
• Experiences of working with local NGOs and CSOs, specifically with regard to giving trainings and to Project planning
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in Thai and English; knowledge of Northern Thai, Shan and Burmese is an asset.
• Willingness to travel to remote areas and work at flexible/odd hours.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office e.g. Word, Excel, Power Point and MS Access

Contract: One year contract (Possible to turn Permanent based on Performance)
