Community Partners International (CPI) is a U.S. nonprofit organization working in partnership with conflict-affected, hard-to-reach and underserved communities in Southeast Asia to expand access to quality health services and generate the resources, local capacity and coordination necessary to meet their own health, learning, and development needs. CPI’s Asian headquarters are located in Yangon, Myanmar, and the organization maintains field offices throughout Myanmar.

With support from Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), CPI leads one of two consortia implementing the project supporting health systems strengthening and convergence through maternal, neonatal and child health care (MNCH) services in Kayin State.
CPI is supporting three local partners operating 80 community-based primary care clinics in Hlaingbwe, Kawkareik, Kyain Seikgyi, Myawaddy townships serving a target population of more than 235,000 people in underserved, vulnerable and conflict-affected communities


Primary Responsibilities

●  Working with Director, other Program team to develop and implement a cohesive andcoordinated plan for supporting Primary Health care especially Maternal, Neonataland Child health activities at each partner organization
●  Implementing and managing changes and interventions to ensure projects goals areachieved and develop and implement effective interventions based on culturally andsituation- appropriate adaptations of international best practices
●  Meeting with different stakeholders, partners and donors to make communicationeasy and transparent regarding project issues and decisions on services.
●  Producing accurate and timely reporting of program status throughout its life cycle andanalyzing program risks.
●  Regular Monitoring on program budget vs achievement and develop and take actionaccordingly.
●  Review and update the CPI PHC and MNCH technical recommendations as appropriatetogether with CPI technical team

 

Regular Responsibilities

●  Regularly review project performance indicators, and work with Program team to adjuststrategies accordingly
●  Prepare narrative donor reports
●  Working closely with project staff, contribute to CPI’s internal monitoring and evaluationefforts
●  Working closely with the finance and contribute to the oversight and management ofpartners’ sub-grants and adherence with donor requirements and timelines, and timelysubmission of sub- grantee reports
●  Coordinate with respective program focal from both Myanmar and Thailand andensure the expected results in a timely fashion
●  Working with the Director to support humanitarian response activities.

 

Partner Support

●  Support and mentoring partners in development, implementation and review of effectiveproject interventions based on cultural and situational appropriate adaptations ofinternational best practices
●  Enhance the capacity of local partners to ensure successful implementation of the program
●  Coordinate and support the development and implementation of a cohesive plan forsupporting program activities at each partner organization
●  Meet regularly with leadership of partner organizations in order to ensure the relevanceof CPI’s support, and to monitor progress toward mutually established goals andobjectives as part of our grant obligations to our donors
●  Identify opportunities for advocacy including opportunities for partners to share andpromote their work.

 

Capacity Building and Supporting other Staff

●  Supervise and manage the project team for planning and review process at regional andYangon level
●  Support project staff to meet objectives established in project that involve easternMyanmar partners
●  Work closely with the finance team and program staff to prepare monthly, quarterly andannual budgets, forecasts, and financial reports, and to ensure all program expenses arewithin budget and have appropriate supporting documentation, including receipts

 

Operations and Administration

●  Meet with partners as needed, facilitate the development of donor and other stakeholderrelationships, and help to ensure requests are handled promptly and effectively



Organization Representation

●  Represent CPI in partner, donor and other stakeholder meetings
●  Establish, strengthen and sustain the good relationships/ coordination with donoragencies, implementing partners and other relevant organizations

 

ESSENTIAL SKILLS

●  Masters level training in public health, or equivalent work experience
●  Minimum six years’ experience in public health program management in aninternational organization
●  Fluent in written and spoken English and Burmese
●  Proven strong experiences in program management, stakeholder managementand team management skill
●  Experience of working in a multicultural, low-resource setting and mentoring/ coaching
●  Ability to establish priorities in a time sensitive environment and meet deadlines withstrong attention to consistency, detail, and quality
●  Comfortable working with a variety of partners and navigating complex relationships
