Title: International Student Recruitment Consultant
Location: Bangkok, Thailand or Remote
Duration: January 10 – April 8, 2022 (12 weeks)

Program Summary
IIE will collaborate with the soon-to-be launched Jio Institute (JI) to customize and deliver outreach and recruitment services in support of the latter’s inaugural class of students who will begin their academic programs in India in the fall of 2021 in the fields of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science and Digital Media and Marketing Communications.
IIE’s team members in Addis Ababa, Bangkok, Beijing, Cairo, Hong Kong and New Delhi (under guidance of its US office team) will work with the core team at JI to deliver services in the following areas:

The Bangkok consultant will cover the Southeast Asia Region, which includes the following countries: Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Singapore, Philippines, and Brunei.
Purpose of Position
The International Student Recruitment Consultant in each location will:

Develop, coordinate and implement an outreach and recruitment strategy within the regions mentioned above - for Jio Institute (JI)’s inaugural cohort of students in summer 2021 who will be pursuing post graduate programs in Artificial Intelligence & Data Sciences and Digital Media & Integrated Marketing Communications.

Serve as the first point of contact for potential applicants, universities, corporates and partner organizations throughout the relevant countries mentioned above.

Develop and maintain contacts at relevant academic institutions and corporates, including administrators, counselors, faculty, HR heads and other student influencers to attract and recruit the student pool for JI.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Outreach Strategy. Host strategic virtual discussions with JI to design outreach strategy, identify target markets, define stakeholder groups, and create outreach plan that includes brand-building activities to raise awareness among students, faculty, corporate representatives, and other key stakeholders and influencers.

Brand Building and Awareness. Plan activities to raise the profile of JI among officials and stakeholders globally towards the goal of attracting highly talented candidates, encouraging governments to add JI to scholarship program lists, and raising awareness of the programs among higher education institutions. Organize high-level meetings for JI and institutional and government stakeholders, facilitate introductions to faculty and administrators for potential collaborations and partnerships, and recommend industry publications for JI leadership to submit articles for publication.

Corporate Outreach. Conduct targeted outreach to HR and CSR professionals at global companies, particularly in relevant industries with a large local employee base and high potential for corporate sponsorship for study abroad, to identify potential candidates for JI’s programs. Promote the opportunity through the alumni networks of IIE’s current programs, such as Techwomen, and through the local American Chamber of Commerce.

Engagement with Feeder Institutions. Activate connections at relevant academic departments at 5-15 feeder schools in each target country to build JI’s brand among key stakeholders and develop a pipeline for future applicants to JI’s programs. Identify institutions with strong relationships with alumni who would have interest in JI’s academic programs.

Social Media Strategy. Collaborate with JI to finetune the value proposition and localize the current social media strategy to post persuasive and appropriate messaging for the target markets, including calls to action and instructional content to attract competitive applicants.

Newsletters and Marketing Emails. Send two to three newsletters total, and two to three personalized marketing emails per month to build awareness, share news and updates on the program, and communicate information about the application process and deadlines. Share email marketing reports with JI, that will include marketing metrics, budgets, and expenditures, and will be used to inform modifications to the outreach program design.

Meetings with Stakeholder Groups. In close collaboration with JI, convene three meetings per region with key stakeholder groups via videoconference to secure their support of JI’s graduate programs. These include but are not limited to academic societies; university faculty and administrators; companies in relevant industries; relevant member organizations; and local government officials.

Outreach Webinars. Deliver two outreach webinars in each region to inform potential students, employers, influential administrators, and other interested parties about JI.

Social Media Campaigns and Analytics. Launch two to three social media campaigns in each region to complement email marketing campaigns and maximize student engagement, expanding JI’s visibility. Share regular social media reports with JI that will include impressions, reach, clicks, sign ups, and budget and expenditures, and will be used to inform modifications to the outreach program design. Also target university networks, alumni associations websites, etc.

Transfer of Communication. Direct prospective applicants to appropriate JI contacts who will maintain close communication with the applicants through the admission process.

Education/Experience/Skills Required

Bachelor’s degree in a related field and at least two years of related work experience.

Fluency in English.

Efficient use of technology, including spreadsheets, database, Internet, and email.

Ability to operate independently and effectively.

Strong organizational and communication skills.
