Editorial Researcher (Entry - Mid Level)

Sidekick is a content-driven agency for social change. We work with International non-profit Organizations, UN agencies and local Social Enterprises to develop cutting edge media research, virtual events and campaigns to tackle the most pressing issues within Southeast Asia.

We are urgently looking for info-hounds. Someone with a passion for asking questions and solving problems. A person who doesn’t shy away from reading and writing complex issues because at Sidekick we work on causes ranging from climate change, access to education, animal rights to human trafficking and gender equality. 

Qualifications

​

• Thai National 

• Excellent English language skills - able to interview individuals, write summaries and present stories/research findings fluently in English. 

• Three years of experience working in an editorial environment (publishing/web/broadcast/media agency or communication department) 

• Passion for the written word 

• Follow current events with knowledge and interest not just on social justice issues but also know your way around current trends and social media best practices.

• Industry-relevant majors such as journalism, English, or media studies.

Roles and Responsibilities

• We are committed to the Human Centered philosophy, which means we spend a lot of time talking to people from all walks of life, trying to understand the emotions that drive their behavior which then become the backbone of our stories, articles, webcasts, live events and campaigns for social change. 

  • You will work with our senior content team to gather information from a variety of sources such as conducting face-to-face interviews to researching theories, concepts and data important to creating social and behavioral change.  

  • Work with the team to analyse the data and provide write-ups in the form of reports, stories and photographs. 

  • Work with the production team to help turn research results into communication assets for each social change campaign. 

• Help maintain and contribute to Sidekick’s editorial calendar and content budget, planning for upcoming events, major milestones, and content themes
