EDUCATION DEVELOPMENT OFFICER

COERR FOUNDATION is a Thai NGO established for the purpose of bringing aid to displaced persons in Thailand and those affected by natural disasters.

COERR is looking for experienced personnel to fill the post of Education Development Officer for Bangkok field office.

TERMS OF REFERENCE

1. Provide assessment, monitoring, counseling, and other intervention to support students with behavioral problems and special needs in our preparation program and in Thai schools.

2. Identify, design, plan, facilitate and evaluate learning activities in line with education development policy and direction.  Provide appropriate learning tools to the project beneficiaries and during staff development training sessions.

3. Provide reimbursement, among other education services.

4. Prepare and update list and record of students of the preparatory program and its allowance beneficiaries.

5. Provide other support to Education Services Supervisor and the education team.

QUALIFICATIONS

1. Thai nationality

2. Bachelor degree in education, social work, psychology or other related fields.

3. At least 1- 2 years of work experience. Experience in providing counseling to migrant children would be an advantage.

4. Good counselling skills and has the ability to cope with stressful situations and clients

5. Ability to work under pressure and strong teamwork

6. Good command of English and Thai.

7. High responsibility, proactive and initiative ideas, positive attitude and flexibility

8. Good computer skills (Word, Excel, MS office family and internet)

THAI TEACHER

COERR FOUNDATION or Catholic Office for Emergency Relief and Refugees (COERR), a Thai NGO under the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Thailand (CBCT) was established in 1978 for the purpose of bringing aid to displaced persons in Thailand and those affected by natural disasters.

COERR is urgently looking for experienced personnel to fill the post of Thai Teacher, for Bangkok field office.

LEVEL: Junior Level

TERMS OF REFERENCE

1. With effective utilization of appropriate online platforms, ZOOM, Microsoft Team and Line, teach Thai as a Second Language, primarily to children aged 6-17 years old

2. Design, plan, prepare and facilitate active and participatory learning experience to enhance students’ reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills in Thai language and English, equip the students with skills and understanding of basic mathematics and Thai culture necessary for their future studies in Thai schools.

3. Promote students’ appropriate behaviors desirable to Thai schools.

4. Prepare, conduct, and report assessment of students’ learning progress, aspects of development, class attendance.

5. Work with parents to reinforce their supportive roles in education of children.

6. Collaborate with education development officer, to help students with special needs, and with education officer to ensure successful Thai school admission of students. Refer cases to relevant specialists when needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

1. Thai nationality

2. Bachelor Degree of Education from a recognized university, ideally with primary education major or applied linguistic with outstanding grades in language teaching courses with at least 6 months of teaching experience, or

3. A degree in any field with at least 2 years of second-language teaching in classes of students from different backgrounds.

4. Proven experiences in online teaching for school age children are preferable.

5. Good command of English.

6. Experience and knowledge about child development/psychology and/or sound understanding of Thai formal education system is a plus.

7. Open-mindedness, ability to work under pressure and strong team building skills
