TOR for Online campaigns organizer for the Resiliency Initiative Project
Location: Home-based / flexible, Asia-Pacific region preferable
Expected duration of assignment: 2-3 days per week for 6 months on consultancy basis; flexible hours
Background
The Resiliency Initiative is a partnership between The Asia Foundation and Meta which aims to promote tolerance, strengthen inter-faith and inter-ethnic understanding, and counter violent extremism by helping to build resilient communities across the Asia-Pacific. https://resiliencyinitiative.org/ The project is granting funds to 5-6 local civil society organisations (CSOs) with minor financial and technical assistance, enabling them to own, design and implement an online campaign. CSOs will have significant scope to design the campaign according to locally defined needs while still following broad criteria. Each campaign should seek to prevent conflict, tackle violence, tensions between groups, discrimination, intolerance, extremism, or address related challenges.
The Regional Conflict and Fragility team at The Asia Foundation is looking for a lively and organized Online campaigns organizer to work on coordinating and managing the campaign grants. The Online campaigns organizer will work with the Resiliency Initiative team and others at The Asia Foundation to ensure that CSOs are supported in their campaigns to achieve desired results.
Job Responsibilities
The Online campaigns organizer will work closely with the Resiliency Initiative team and the rest of the Regional Conflict and Fragility team to:
Support and monitor online engagement strategies and outreach of the Resiliency Initiative program and website.
Develop plans to increase both engagement and outreach of the Resiliency Initiatives existing and new resources across social media platforms
Develop or adapt multimedia content for the website and social media posts such as spotlighting CSO work, hosting online live and public events
Seek new networks and channels to introduce the Resiliency Initiative resources to appropriate audiences
Coordinate with CSOs throughout the grant period including:
Ensure contracts for each organization are in order
Review and provide support on campaign plans and implementation
Coordinate with the Social Media Specialist or other subject matter Specialists to assess CSO needs/gaps to inform appropriate mentorship to CSOs
Organize networking and monthly meetings among grantees and invite resource persons as appropriate
Regularly keep track and monitor progress of each grantee’s campaigns, including timelines and budget of the grant
Support team in synthesizing campaign results and developing communications package as part of the case profiles for the Resiliency Initiative website and social media pages such as photo-essays, micro-narratives, blogs and storytelling articles, etc.
Monitoring and reporting on project activities for internal and external stakeholders
Qualifications
Strong knowledge and 1-2 years of experience in digital communications and online communications channels;
Speaks and writes clearly and effectively; able to handle complex information and data and convey clear messages; able to adapt content and style for different audiences
Ability to manage deadlines and supervise contracts
Fluency in English is required, and knowledge of local South and/or Southeast Asian languages is an asset
Demonstrates cultural sensitivity and awareness of social and political issues in the Asia-Pacific.
Desirable
Experience working in the non-profit or social impact sector on complex social issues.
Experience in managing social media and online campaigns.
