Dao Sales and Marketing Officer- Based in Bangkok

 

Baan Dek Foundation (BDF) is a non-profit, non-political, and non-religious organization based in Bangkok and Chiang Mai. BDF provides access to education, health, and child protection services to more than 2,000 vulnerable children living in urban slums and construction site camps in Thailand. Through its direct service provision programs and systemic impact strategy, BDF protects and empowers marginalized children and their families to become more self-sustainable, and provides opportunities for a better future.

 

Dao Ethical Gifts (DEG)* is a social enterprise model powered by Baan Dek Foundation, which empowers women in-need through work readiness skills, financial literacy, and sewing training to enable them to produce ethical gifts and generate an extra source of income when facing personal or economic crisis. A percentage of the profits generated by DEG go to BDF’s programs to support vulnerable children, generating a sustainable source of income for the foundation. DEG offers gifts that truly give back, with a measurable impact on communities, complementing CSR strategies of the corporate market. Some of our clients include L’Oreal, Michelin, Lazada, Ravayadee Hotels, Wonderfruit, Amadeus, and Valneva.

 

* Dao Ethical Gifts Co., Ltd.  is currently registered as a company and is in the process of applying for social enterprise status under Thai law.

 

Job Description

Job Title:                                             Dao Sales and Marketing Officer

Type of Contract:                           Full-time position, 1 year (with possibility of extension)

Department:                                    Partnerships

Location:                                           Bangkok, Thailand (with possibility of occasional work trips to

the Chiang Mai office)

Expected Start Date:                     ASAP

 

Responsibilities

We are looking for a talented sales/marketing profile to expand the DEG business model and support the Partnerships Team with its networking capability and fundraising initiatives. The position directly reports to the Partnerships Manager, with oversight from DEG’s Founder.

 

Dao Ethical Gifts (DEG) support:

The main responsibilities of this role will include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • Develop, lead, and maintain a robust pipeline of new business/sales opportunities.
  • Identifies business opportunities by identifying prospects and evaluating their position in the industry; researching and analyzing sales options. This includes prospecting new clients through emails, cold calling, and networking with corporate CSR managers to build strategic relationships which uphold DEG’s mission, with specific emphasis on Thai corporates and multinationals based in Bangkok.
  • Contact clients, requiring effective written and verbal communication and the ability to build customer rapport while managing their expectations.
  • Negotiate/close deals and handle complaints or objections.
  • Prepare and deliver appropriate presentations on DEG products.
  • Develop monitoring of past and prospective clients on Salesforce; update the Dashboard.
  • Bring new business deals to life by coordinating with the operations team internally to create “smart” timelines and execution plans.
  • Further robust the existing DEG business plan and jointly develop a business strategy for DEG with DEG’s Founder and DEG Program Manager.
  • Explore new channels of how to pivot the business into Food & Beverage or other industries and provide recommendations on strengthening the business plan.
  • Analyze DEG’s clients’ needs in order to make recommendations in terms of product development.
  • Monitor DEG stock to comply with Thai audit requirements.

 

BDF Partnerships Team support:

  • Further expand Thai corporate and philanthropic network to raise funds for core programs.
  • Lead and coordinate the fundraising initiative, Blue Fork campaign with CSR partners in Bangkok and beyond. Blue Fork is a fundraising and awareness initiative that brings together dedicated Food & Beverage and hospitality partners to support BDF’s mission.

 

Required Skills

  • Dynamic, creative, with demonstrated sales and marketing skills
  • Thorough understanding of marketing and negotiating techniques
  • Highly motivated, flexible and interested in humanitarian mission
  • Ability to work both independently and in teams
  • Able to work in a multicultural, fast-paced environment
  • Efficient organizational and project coordination skills
  • High level of communication
  • Highly motivated to bring innovative solutions, to lead and to create social impact
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Knowledge of CRM software, Salesforce, is an asset

 

Other Requirements

 

Nationality: Thai or ability to work legally in Thailand

 

Experience (Preferred): Working with children (or for an organization that supports children) is considered an asset

 

Language: Fluent in Thai and English

 

Working hours: Full time - Monday to Friday with occasional weekends and evenings

 

Remuneration: Starting at 30,000 THB (to be defined based on experience and qualifications)
