Community Partners International (CPI) is a US nonprofit organization working in partnership with conflict-affected, hard-to-reach and underserved communities in Southeast Asia to expand access to quality health services and generate the resources, local capacity, and coordination necessary to meet. their own health, learning, and development needs. CPI's Asia headquarters are located in Bangkok, Thailand, and Yangon, Myanmar, and the organization maintains field offices in various locations across Myanmar, Thailand, and Bangladesh, depending on the operations needs in respective countries.
Overview of the Roles and Responsibilities
This position is intended to represent CPI in the international and local meetings related to CPI's programs in Thailand. The Regional Program Director will oversee both the program implementations and operations including the progress of CPI's registration process. The RPD will also lead the CPI staff members in Thailand and manage CPI day-to-day activities. The RPD will communicate regularly with the Executive Director who will provide inputs as needed for implementation of CPI's programs. The Regional Program Director will also provide support to Myanmar & Bangladesh programs for donor engagement, strategy development & program development.
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide leadership, supervision, and oversight of programs and financial management to ensure the most efficient use of resources, under the guidance of the ED,
- Coordinate and cooperate with CPI management team to provide support to Myanmar & Bangladesh program for donor engagement, strategy development & program development
- Monitor preparation of timely project reports, information, and communication materials
- Engage with multiple stakeholders for program development in Myanmar, Thailand, Bangladesh and south Asia countries
- Orchestrate various activities for mobilizing resources such as proposal development, fundraising events etc.,
- Helm a team to design and develop implementation plans for newly-acquired programs during inception phases
- Stay up to date on South and Southeast Asia political and security situations and adapt CPI's programmatic strategy as needed
- Prepare program reports to donors
Regular Responsibilities
- Manage program and operation teams of the regional office in Thailand
- Prepare sound budgets, monitor project budgets against expenditures, and ensure appropriate adjustments
- Prepare situation reports with updates on progress as needed
- Communicate weekly with ED and country directors in Myanmar and Bangladesh to provide program updates
- Monitor local social and security contexts for significant changes and alert ED as necessary.
Partner Support
- Ensure strong collaborative partner relationships based on principles of mutual trust and respect, mutual accountability, reciprocity, inclusion, and transparency
- Assist local partners in preparing concept notes and proposals to CPI as needed
- Coordinate with local partners to ensure timely submission of reports in accordance with CPI guidelines
- Ensure partner organizations are compliant with CPI's minimum required financial standards.
- Enhance capacity of partner organizations for successful implementation of programs
Operations and Administration
- Ensure preparation and submission of timely reports related to programs
- Ensure CPI's HR procedures are in line with the labor law of the country.
- Manage day-to-day operations of CPI programs in Thailand
Organization Representation
- Represent CPI at conferences, working groups, and meetings to support CPI's management team.
Essential Skills
- Master or Ph.D. degree in health, development, or management
- Minimum 10 years of senior management experience and community development
- Proven staff management and team-building skills
- Self-motivated with a positive and professional approach to management
- Ability to work independently in a rapidly changing professional environment
- Ability to establish good working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders from different cultural backgrounds
