The Freedom Fund has a deep commitment to the safety and protection of all children, women and men in communities where we work. The organisation recognizes the particular risks faced by children and adults in vulnerable circumstances, the difficulties they face in reporting harm they experience, and also their right to be free from violence, abuse and exploitation. The Freedom Fund has safeguarding measures in place in order to promote the safety, protection and well-being of anyone via its implementing partners.

The Freedom Fund is seeking a highly skilled safeguarding specialist, with experience in developing and implementing organizational safeguarding policies and reporting/disclosure procedures. The aim of this consultancy is to enhance the capacity of Freedom Fund partners in Thailand on the implementation of their safeguarding frameworks and related procedures. Specifically, the consultant is expected to support the partners on the followings:

  • Review/develop and refine safeguarding strategies/frameworks, for example, organisations’ safeguarding policy, TOR for safeguarding focal points, safeguarding code of conduct, among four Freedom Fund partners.
  • Identify and design safeguarding training priorities, including specific training for safeguarding focal points for five Freedom Fund partners.

  • Support partners to develop a directory of (in country) services for survivor support for five partners.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of safeguarding visibility materials and outreach plans for five partners.

Overall, the consultant must ensure the delivery of services in close coordination with the London Safeguarding Manager and Safeguarding Focal Point of Freedom Fund for Thailand as well as the Freedom Fund partners in Thailand.

About the consultancy

The scope of the consultancy will depend on safeguarding priorities and needs of the Freedom Fund partners. To ensure partners ownership of the process, we would like locally funded partners to lead on the development of a Safeguarding capacity building plan, with technical oversight from the consultant and the Freedom Fund Safeguarding Manager.

Travel to the Bangkok, Samut Sakhon, Songkhla, Pattani and Phang Nga is required. Due to covid-19 restrictions, some work may be conducted remotely.
