SENIOR PROGRAM MANAGER - SONGKHLA

DAI (Thailand) Ltd, an international consulting firm, is recruiting a highly qualified and motivated person to work as Senior Program Manager on the USAID-funded Together program in Thailand based in Songkhla. The Senior Program Manager will be report directly to the Chief of Party. The Senior Program Manager is responsible for the overall management of the Songkhla Office, maintaining relations with government officials and oversight of technical activities within the context of Together Activity objectives. The period of employment for this position ends in May 2023. The position is open to Thai Nationals only.

Initiated in August 2018, Together works with the Royal Thai Government to strengthen its capacity to engage and communicate with citizens, increasing its ability to effectively address citizen concerns and strengthen social cohesion. Together collaborates with CSOs to improve their capacity to advocate for public interests and work with government to develop solutions to common challenges. Through its partnerships and activities, Together expands the space for dialogue and reconciliation, and facilitates the growth of attitudes, networks, and mechanisms that nurture peace, tolerance, and responsive governance.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and provide guidance to the Songkhla-based technical and operations staff;
• Maintain relations with Royal Thai Government counterparts, local and international CSOs, universities and donors active in the Deep South;
• Assist in the management and implementation of activities in support of Together objectives;
• Monitor and assess the impact of Together activities, with a focus on how grant and project activity portfolios contribute to broader Activity objectives, through frequent visits to the field and interviews with participants and beneficiaries; and
• Assist the Chief of Party with reporting tasks, including quarterly and annual reports, and other reports as required and requested by USAID and DAI.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of professional experience in local, regional and national programs addressing governance, social inclusion and gender issues, with focus on the Deep South;
• Experience working with local government, universities and CSOs in the Deep South;
• Strong management skills and ability to lead a diverse staff;
• Advanced university degree in related field, including political science, sociology, public administration, economics;
• Excellent public speaking, facilitation and communications skills; and
• Fluent in written and spoken English and Thai Language.
