Organization Background

Established in 2002, Baan Dek Foundation (BDF) is a not-for-profit, non-governmental organization with the mission to provide access to essential education, health, and child protection services to disadvantaged children and families living in construction site camps. Over the last 10 years, Baan Dek Foundation established key partnerships with construction companies, real estate developers and public services to build sustainable impact in construction site camps and improve the lives and access to basic services of construction workers and their children. 

In the course of its project activities implementation, BDF has regular needs for translation for technical documents, from English to Thai or Thai to English.  Those documents include training modules and training material, communication material, guideline.

As those needs for such translation services are recurrent, and following BDF financial procedure, BDF would like to select and pre-qualify translators for a period of one year. 

During this period the selected translator will be offered regular translation work. The price terms and conditions will be agreed on for the whole year and detailed in a Framework agreement signed between BDF and the Translator. This Framework agreement will not bind either part in an exclusive commercial relation though.

The indicative amount of the translation contract for one year is estimated around  80,000 THB.

The pre-qualified translator will be selected using Price Quality Method following the below detailed criteria:

• Number of years of experience in translation

• Quality of the translation sample provided

• Experience in translation of documents related to ESG concept, and social thematics. 

• Price per word for Thai to English and English to Thai translation proposed and applied for a one-year period.

The professional translators interested in being pre-qualified translator of BDF, are invited to send their interest, by email to Chanunrath Bunnag - chanunrath@baandekfoundation.org, and  CC : recruit@baandekfoundation.org and attach: 

• Samples of previous translation work, 

• CV or Company Profile,

• Information on the average time needed to translate a 2 pages document, a 10 pages document and a 60 pages document.

• Cost of translation, all taxes included, per word on Thai to English and English to Thai. This price has to be guaranteed for a one year period. 

Deadline for submission of the offer : 15th of September 2022. 

Please note that applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis and the position will remain posted until a qualified candidate is selected.
