Vacancy Announcement- Safety and Security Manager
The United States Peace Corps program in Thailand seeks a qualified and motivated candidate for the following full-time position: Safety and Security Manager. The United Peace Corps is a non-political, non-religious organization, which will bring American Volunteers to Thailand to be assigned to work with communities on development projects. The Peace Corps is an agency of the United States Government and was founded by President John F. Kennedy in 1961.
The Safety and Security Manager will report to the Country Director and be responsible for supporting the entire Peace Corps Thailand Program. This is a full-time contracted position that requires work both within the Peace Corps office in Bangkok as well as periodic travel within Thailand.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Coordinate security programs, and maintain safety equipment, procedures, and documentation
Considerable travel throughout Thailand to visit Volunteers and build relationships with community members, local leaders and local authorities
Respond to individual and large-scale emergencies at short notice: 24 hours/day, 7 days/week
Liaise with local law enforcement and U.S. government officials
Monitor and disseminate information about security issues
Design and conduct trainings for American Volunteers and community members
QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIRED
Degree from a college or university and/or relevant professional security or law enforcement experience and/or at least 4 years’ experience with safety and security programs of Peace Corps or similar development organization
Ability to travel on short notice and operate a 4-wheel drive vehicle
Fluency in written and spoken Thai and English with strong written English skills
Thai National; Valid Thai work and residency permit required
DESIRED
Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with other organizations, including local law enforcement, criminal justice, emergency management and other NGO/development agencies
Ability to analyze crime trends and other risks and propose mitigation strategies
Resourcefulness and flexibility in dealing with emergency situations
Demonstrated organizational and communication skills
Ability to work with Microsoft Office Suite, and other basic computer knowledge
Ability to conduct training and give presentations, in both English and a local language
