Vacancy Announcement- Safety and Security Assistant
The Peace Corps program in Thailand places American Volunteers in two-year assignments in villages and towns across the country. Peace Corps is seeking qualified applicants for the contracted position of Safety and Security Assistant. The Safety and Security Assistant is responsible for providing administrative support to the safety and security program and for supporting Volunteers with all issues that relate to their safety and security including housing, transport, risk management, and crime. This is a full-time contracted position that requires work both within the Peace Corps office in Bangkok as well as periodic travel within Thailand.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
In coordination with the Safety and Security Manager (SSM), provides administrative support and verifies safety and Security Policy implementation
Assists with the development of training materials for safety and security related sessions during events such as Pre-Service Training (PST), In-Service Trainings (IST), Close of Service (COS) conferences and Warden Trainings
Assists with the development and support of Home-Stays and housing during PST and site identification by delivering safety information to potential families and communicating post policies on housing and volunteer safety to counterparts and community members
Provides Volunteer support after crime incidents, such as police follow-up, preparation of reports, accompanying Volunteers to their sites, etc
Supports the training of staff and the testing of Post’s Emergency Action Plan (EAP)
Maintains post-crime statistics and analyzes trends in the country
QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIRED
A high school diploma (or local equivalent); college degree preferred
Fluency in written and spoken Thai and English with strong written English skills
Thai National; Valid Thai work and residency permit required
DESIRED
Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with other organizations, including local law enforcement, criminal justice, emergency management and other NGO/development agencies
Ability to analyze crime trends and other risks and propose mitigation strategies
Demonstrated organizational and communication skills
Ability to work with Microsoft Office Suite, and other basic computer knowledge
Ability to conduct training and give presentations, in both English and a local language
