Vacancy Announcement- Training Assistant
The Training Assistant (TA) is a fulltime contracted position in the Peace Corps office in Bangkok, as well as off-site coordinator for training events outside of Bangkok. The TA is responsible for providing office and field support to the Training Manager and other Programming and Training staff as well as contracted trainers. The TA is responsible for administrative and logistical support of training events, management of in-country resources center, be a liaison for WWS and other Volunteer groups, as well as for the general safety and security of Trainees and Volunteers. During Pre-Service and In-Service Trainings, the TA acts as on-site coordinator for the event. The TA also supports programming staff on site visits and Volunteer support as needed and is responsible for content and delivery of some ISTs.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide general administrative support to Training Manager (TM) and assist in the preparation of annual training budgets and documentation
Assist the TM in the planning, budgeting, logistics, administration, and management of the Pre-Service Training (PST) and various In-Service Training events
Support and coordinate the work of contracted short term and full time Peace Corps training staff
Handle all major communication for the Training Unit and serve as liaison between programming and training staff, local government officials and community leaders at training sites
Manage and maintain an inventory of training supplies, materials, and equipment
Manage and update the Volunteer Resource Center (VRC)’s collection of materials
Assist the TM in organizing, producing , and distributing training materials and biographical data books
Prepare correspondence, reports, and other documents related to training
Become certified as a Language Proficiency Interviews Tester and support language training as needed
Provide general assistance to Volunteers regarding work issues and personal needs if requested
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
University degree
Experience in administration, logistics, fleet management, budgeting and procurement;
Experience dealing with RTG officials at all levels;
Experience supervising, training and coaching staff;
Strong computer and ability to trouble shoot electronic and technical problems
Exceptional organizational skills;
Excellent interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills;
Flexible, motivated and self-directed;
Willingness to travel extensively and live full-time for 3 months at the training site;
Prior experience working in an international organization and/or experience living abroad preferred.
Must be comfortable speaking in front of groups
Must be legal Thai resident with valid work permit
Native proficiency in written and spoken Thai; high proficiency in written and spoken English
