Call for applications – DATA ENTRY
Handicap International is seeking a suitably qualified candidate (individual or company) to transfer data collected from Burmese refugees in 9 camps into excel worksheets.
Duration: Short-term assignment, maximum 15 working days in July 2015

Introduction
Handicap International (HI) is an independent and impartial aid organization working in situations of poverty and exclusion, conflict and disaster. We work alongside people with disabilities and vulnerable populations, taking action and bearing witness in order to respond to their essential needs, improve their living conditions and promote respect for their dignity and fundamental rights. HI is non-profit making association founded in 1982.
HI’s started working in Thailand in 1984 and first focused its actions on the delivery of mobility and assistive devices to Thai and Burmese landmine victims, most of whom needed lower limb prostheses. Since 1998 the scope of project broadened and the project promoted provision of physical rehabilitation services to persons with disabilities and facilitating persons with disabilities access to health, education and economic activities within the temporary shelters.
Scope of the assignment
The Post Impact Assessment survey is panned to provide information about the results of the risk education activities and intervention as a whole in order to evaluate how the action has impacted the proposed final beneficiaries, to discover the causes of success and failure, and to improve the planning of further interventions and to improve the planning of further interventions.
It is expected to interview maximum 700 beneficiaries in all 9 camps over the period from 13-29 July, 2015. The PIA Questionnaire contains 36 closed and open questions that needs to be transferred from Questionnaires into Excel spreadsheet for further analysis and reporting.
Objective of assignment
The objective of this short-term assignment is to support Post Impact Assessment (PIA) within Mine Risk Education Project implemented in 9 camps along the Thai-Burma Border.
Specific Objective is to transfer the data from the Questionnaires into Excel spreadsheets.
Time Frame
The data entry is expected to start on the 22nd of July and to complete no later than the 7th of August 2015.
Terms of reference/ Post Impact Assessment 2015 - Data Entry
Specification of the requirements:
1. High school on IT, administration, or related education with practical experience;
2. Written and spoken English is mandatory;
3. Proven knowledge of MS office and specially MS Excel;
4. Proven experience in data entry with high level of efficiency (speed of entry) and accuracy - transferring data from the Questionnaires into Excel spreadsheets;
5. Previous experience in surveys/ assessments and/or data collection is essential;
6. Experience working with Non-governmental organization would be in asset;
7. Experience/ knowledge of refugee contexts would be in asset;
8. Knowledge of Karen and Burmese languages would be in asset.
Application process and evaluation
Candidates need to submit the following (points 1-4 are compulsory):
1. Letter of Interest.
2. Short CV and list of experiences/assignments highlighting those focused on data entry.
3. Financial application with integrate expenses related to the assignment (fees, accommodation in Mae Sot if applicable, etc.).
4. Two references.
5. Registration certificate (copy) in case of a company.
Maximum budget available: 20,000 THB
Evaluation of the expression of interest and other required documents will be made by a selection committee only if complete application is received. Criteria to select the best application will be based on quality of the demonstrated expertise/skills of the applicant (Letter of interest), previous experiences (CV and the list of experience related to data entry), and competitive financial proposition.
