Background/IRC Summary:
The IRC has a rich history of assisting refugees to apply for U.S. resettlement, from its founding in 1933 to help vulnerable individuals escape Nazi-occupied Europe, to pioneering the Joint Voluntary Agency which assisted Indochinese refugees for 22 years, to operations in Croatia, Sierra Leone and Sudan. Over the years, IRC has processed some half million refugees worldwide for U.S. resettlement.
Based in Bangkok with four field offices in Thailand and Malaysia, the IRC Resettlement Support Center (IRC-RSC) assists persons throughout East Asia seeking permanent resettlement in the United States. Operating in fifteen countries, the RSC prepares refugee applications for the U.S. Refugee Admissions Program, provides information to resettlement agencies about arriving refugees and offers cultural orientation training to those refugees bound for the U.S
Job Overview/Summary:
The Case Processing Assistant (CPA) is responsible to prioritize and complete the daily routine workload of Scan Team in a timely and accurate manner. This position to ensure all required documents are scanned and attached into WRAPS system and physical file before storage case in the library. The Case Processing Assistant reports to Senior Case Processing Officer of Assurance and Scan team which is under Case Processing Manager’s management subsequently.
Major Responsibilities:
- Prioritize and complete assigned tasks, primarily Post USCIS cases for refugees ready for documents scanning and attaching into WRAPS system.
- Ensure all required documents are available both in WRAPS system and physical file before storage case in the library with accurate manner.
- Ensure workload completion in a timely manner, or otherwise keep supervisors advised of workload challenges.
- Maintain clear channel of communication to effectively reports supervisors as assigned.
- Maintain current and accurate case information according to SOP, OGM and guideline.
- Assist other teams such as Travel Packet, Medical, and Post Update Teams when required.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
Education: University Degree
Work Experience: One year’s work experience in an office environment or with refugee resettlement a plus
Demonstrated Skills and Competencies:
- Ability to juggle multiple tasks, set priorities, effectively manages time, and meets deadlines.
- Excellent organizational skills, flexible, attention to details and ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Ability to take direction from supervisors and cooperate with teammates.
- Previous data entry experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft office applications especially Adobe Acrobat and Scanner.
Language Skills: Bilingual English/Thai

Working Environment: This position is located at the RSC office in Bangkok and is primarily office based.
