Background/IRC Summary:
The IRC has a rich history of assisting refugees to apply for U.S. resettlement, from its founding in 1933 to help vulnerable individuals escape Nazi-occupied Europe, to pioneering the Joint Voluntary Agency which assisted Indochinese refugees for 22 years, to operations in Croatia, Sierra Leone and Sudan. Over the years, IRC has processed some half million refugees worldwide for U.S. resettlement.
Based in Bangkok with four field offices in Thailand and Malaysia, the IRC Resettlement Support Center (IRC-RSC) assists persons throughout East Asia seeking permanent resettlement in the United States. Operating in fifteen countries, the RSC prepares refugee applications for the U.S. Refugee Admissions Program, provides information to resettlement agencies about arriving refugees and offers cultural orientation training to those refugees bound for the U.S
Job Overview/Summary:
The RSC Senior Transport and Site Maintenance Officer is responsible for developing and implementing site and vehicle maintenance systems to ensure RSC vehicles, program sites and drivers are in compliance with IRC security, safety and procurement guidelines. Additional responsibilities include administrative paperwork completion, supervising drivers and developing a system for scheduling transportation movements for RSC program in Mae Sot. This position reports to the Deputy Program Support Coordinator.
Major Responsibilities:
- Supervise and provide professional development to RSC drivers based in Mae Sot.
- Provide indirect supervision to contract drivers to ensure they are in compliance with IRC standards of conduct.
- Under the direction of the Deputy Program Support Coordinator, develop and implement a scheduling system to accommodate transportation movements for RSC program staff in Mae Sot province.
- Submit monthly site visit checklists to supervisor and complete needed repairs and upkeep in a timely manner.
- Develop and implement a weekly vehicle maintenance system. To ensure excellent vehicle performance, routine check-ups, and timely repair of RSC vehicles in accordance with IRC policies.
- Review vehicle log sheets, service orders and complete Prologs database on a weekly basis.
- Implement an equitable scheduling system for all drivers for all out of town trips.
- Request and prepare cash advances for trips outside of Mae Sot and ensure prompt clearance upon completion of the trip.
- Perform other relevant duties as directed.
Job Requirements:
Education: University Degree
Work Experience: Minimum 2 year in logistical and operational support.

Working Environment: The position is located at the RSC office in Mae Sot.
