PEACE CORPS Thailand VACANCIES – closing date August 28, 2015
Peace Corps Thailand is seeking qualified applicants for the following short-term contract positions for Pre-Service Training (PST). PST staff prepares approximately 70 American Peace Corps Trainees in language, culture, health/safety, and education/community development skills for two-year Volunteer assignments at community primary schools and local government organizations in rural Thailand. PST contractors follow a six-day work week, Monday through Saturday, from December through March. Positions will be based in a rural up-country location. Successful applicants must be fluent in Thai & English. Ethnic minorities are encouraged to apply. Proficiency with standard office computer programs required.
Language Integration Facilitators (LIFs) – 18 positions. LIFs work with a small group of 4-6 Trainees to conduct language classes with a prescribed language/cultural/technical curriculum and effectively use a variety of language training techniques, methodologies, resources, and activities for adult learners.
Cross Cultural Coordinator (CCC) – 1 position. The CCC is responsible for the design, integration and implementation of the Cross-Cultural training into all aspects of training. CCC works closely with staff to provide guidance, technical expertise, assessment and documentation of the training as well as trainees. Cultural understanding and experience with Americans and Thais required for this position.
Home Stay Coordinator (HC) - 1 position. The HC is responsible for the design, promotion and coordination of all aspects related to village homestays during the PST. HC prepares and directs the search and selection of host families, and also offers ongoing support and guidance to families and trainees throughout PST. Strong interpersonal, organizational and negotiation skills preferred for this position.
Project Training Assistants (PTAs) – 2 positions – 1 for the Youth development project (Youth in Development - YinD), and 1 for the education project (Teacher Collaboration and Community Service -TCCS). Project Training Assistants work closely with the Program and Training Specialists and Training/Program Managers to design and facilitate sessions, assess the effectiveness of technical training and provide administrative and logistical support. Requires strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
Site Logistics Assistants (SLAs) – 2 positions. Performs basic clerical tasks such as: systematically arranging letters, memoranda, invoices and other indexed documents; operates basic office equipment; sorts and routes incoming materials; coordinates various office support services, including transportation, procurement and facilities management. Requires – strong communication, - organizational and data entry skills.
Drivers – 2 positions. Under the supervision of the Training Assistant (TA), the Driver transports staff, Trainees, Volunteers and other personnel conducting official Peace Corps business. S/he assures that vehicles are properly maintained and operated according to Peace Corps and US Government guidelines and manufacturer specifications as well as assisting with other tasks as required. Must hold a valid driver’s license and able to drive vans
