Communication Consultant
Bangkok, Thailand
Part time, 1 year with a possibility of extension
World Lung Foundation/Union North America is seeking a part-time communication consultant based in Bangkok, Thailand to provide technical assistance to government on planning and implementation of social marketing campaigns.
The consultant will represent WLF/Union NA and provide on-the-ground management of its public health communication projects in Bangkok. The consultant will work in Bangkok and report to the Associate Director of Southeast Asia Programs based in USA.
Specific duties include:
Provide technical assistance in the development of social marketing campaigns for road safety and other issues as needed.
Maintain positive working relationship with stakeholders in Bangkok including government.
Participate in strategic planning meetings.
Coordinate with local partners/government on campaign development: message pre-testing, creative development and production, media planning, public relations, social media, and campaign evaluation.
Help to select and manage local vendors as needed.
Represent WLF/Union NA at conferences and meetings with government and other stakeholders.
Provide support and assistance on events such as workshops, trainings, conferences, campaign launches, and press conferences and briefings.
Assist with drafting reports, presentations, correspondence, meeting agendas and minutes, as needed.
Write various materials including press releases, fact sheets, website updates, as needed to provide information about the project.
Provide regular and timely updates on progress of activities related to the project.
Handle administrative responsibilities as needed.
Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree with minimum five years of work experience in government relations, development, communication, social marketing, public health or a related field.
Strong interest in public health
Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
Capacity to work independently and collaboratively in an international team.
Solid interpersonal, verbal and presentation skills.
Fluent speaking, reading and writing in both English and Thai.
Solid computer skills, including Internet, email, and Microsoft Office.
Preferred qualifications: Health communication background, familiarity with urban design and road safety.
