FHI 360 serves more than 60 countries, all 50 U.S. states and all U.S. territories. We are currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of: Accounting Assistant based in Bangkok, Thailand.
JOB SUMMARY:
Provide a variety of clerical and administrative duties for the assigned unit(s)/division.
DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
To prepare and preliminary review payment voucher, invoice received, and all supporting documents to verify correctness according to the accounting policy and procedure.
To prepare and check travel claims according to the travel authorizations and regulations prior to payments
Prepare Bill of Collection and calculate withholding tax.
To provide accounting supports to APRO staff on FHI financial rule and regulations to staff or related parties.
Notify vendors and distribute cheques after issuing cheques.
To prepare and generate the financial reports as needed.
Assists other staff in the unit for photocopying, binding, scanning and filing as necessary.
Maintain financial (payments & receipts) files.
Performs other financial duties as assigned.
CONTRIBUTIONS:
Assure that all required documentation is on file.
Provides updated financial information as requested.
Prepares AP Voucher for payment and Record Voucher payment in GFAS
Prepares withholding tax form
Distribute original checks as well as copies of checks and wire transfer confirmations for payments to consultants and sub recipients, vendor and update payment log book.
Contacts bank for necessary financial transactions.
Type correspondence, papers, faxes, and other written work generated by team members; proofread and edit final materials; ensuring documents are free of spelling, typographical and grammatical errors.
EXPERTISE AND COMPLEXITY:
Follow-up on requests in an efficient manner.
Coordinate work assignments with general supervision.
Considerable knowledge of general office practices and administrative procedures or the ability to comprehend them.
Ability to organize and effectively process and maintain records and files.
Ability to type with accuracy and speed.
Ability to become proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Proficiency in spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
Ability to be resourceful in gathering and giving program information.
TYPE AND NATURE OF CONTACTS:
Routine interaction with others and resolve problem situations with tact.
SUPERVISORY AND BUDGET RESPONSIBILITY
None.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Usual office working conditions in Bangkok
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Diploma in Accounting with 1-3 years’ work experience or
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or Administration with 0-1 year work experience.
Experience must reflect knowledge, skills, and abilities listed above.
Experience with international NGO preferred
