We are currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of: Senior Program officer based in Bangkok, Thailand.

 

JOB SUMMARY:

Provide program management support to FHI 360 country offices and projects in the Asia Pacific region.

 

DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manage and support the design, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of projects and subawards across the region.

Coordinate with FHI 360 staff in the region on the development and review of annual workplans, reports, and budgets.

Coordinate with technical, program, and shared service staff to strengthen management tracking systems.

Support and manage business development and proposal development activities as needed

Support select FHI 360 country offices in the Asia Pacific region with management, monitoring, and decision-making.

Support Regional Office Technical Units in management and administrative functions.

Coordinate and contribute to the development, review, and submission of funder progress reports.

Monitor progress against program deliverables, goals and objectives.

Work with shared services to ensure programs are in compliance with funder and FHI 360 regulations.

Develop and implement capacity strengthening initiatives for program and subaward staff to build skills in management of programs at the country level.

Manage the development and utilization of training tools and methodologies for capacity strengthening.

Facilitate and/or organize trainings to increase program management capacity in priority countries.

Participate on program management related visits to country offices.

Assist country offices with identifying resource development opportunities.

Perform other relevant duties as assigned.

 

CONTRIBUTIONS

Manage all program management support related needs within assigned countries.

Oversee the design and implementation of all program and subaward activities within assigned countries.

Ensure timely submission of reports and other relevant documents to funders by FHI 360 project teams and partners.

Contribute to and manage aspects of annual strategic planning, work planning and budgeting processes.

Manage the development of tools and procedures for project implementation, reporting, monitoring, evaluation, capacity assessments, consistent with cooperative agreement or contract requirements, as well as manage dissemination of procedures to FHI 360 staff.

Coordinate technical assistance visits.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES, EXPERTISE AND COMPLEXITY

Knowledge of health programs in developing countries in Asia and Pacific region.

Ability to work independently, manage a high volume work flow, and structure work of staff members.

Superior written and oral communications skills in both English and Thai.

Works well in cross-cultural settings.

Excellent at working in team settings.

 

TYPE AND NATURE OF CONTACTS

Routine coordination with FHI 360 employees, partners, and consultants, on-site and in country offices.

Manage and coordinate work between project staff, partners, consultants, government representatives, local health and research professionals, and recipients of assistance.

Represent selected field programs and other organizations, including donors, and local and international partners.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Usual office working conditions; ability to travel internationally at least 20%.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENT STANDARDS:

Masters in management, public health, or social sciences, and at least five years of experience with NGOs or funding organizations involving program implementation and management.

Ability to supervise and support the management of programs for multiple programs across the Asia Pacific region.

Proven experience in program management, monitoring and evaluation and reporting in diverse settings.

Ability to manage and support the capacity building of multiple country programs in the Asia Pacific region.

Superior written and oral communications skills
