Volunteers Recruitment Announcement (BEAM Education Foundation)

BEAM Education Foundation, located in Chiang Mai, Thailand, is currently looking for a Volunteer
Science/Social Studies Teacher for the integration NFE program.
Founded in 2010, The BEAM Education Foundation offers academic, vocational and cultural courses
and programs to Myanmar migrants in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Students with a passion for Myanmar
are chosen for their ambition, potential and need. BEAM is proud to help our students build a bridge
to a better life.

Job description includes:
   - Responsibility for teaching students science/social studies skills and knowledge equivalent to
secondary level.
   - Creating and updating curriculum and assessment plan of specialized subject for integration
NFE program
   - Completing the teaching as curriculum dictates and preparing daily lesson plan suitable for
student level
   - Composing monthly teaching reports send to coordinator within one week before end of each
month
   - Attending regular teaching-oriented meetings that are organized by the program coordinator
or Management Board
   - Promoting actions/behaviors that respects students’ dignity and diverse religions, cultures,
and customs
   - Participating school welfare activities, occasional workshops, taking part in student support,
and reviewing and developing the curriculum as needed.
   - Managing regular assessment and exams to measure programs outcomes
   - Complying with foundation regulation and operation manual

Job specifications:
   - University graduate with a science/social studies related major or relevant certificate
   - English language skills are required and prior teaching experience is desirable.
   - Excellent knowledge of designated subjects and latest education theories & practices
   - Passion for teaching and organization skills
   - Patience, flexibility and strong communication skills
   - Commitment for helping students achieve their maximum potential

The candidate should also be volunteer minded and needs to commit about 20 working hours (12
hours teaching, plus 8 hours of lesson planning/curriculum, meetings, etc.) per week. Work permit,
visa, health insurance and accommodation will be provided after successful probation period.
