Wedu is a social enterprise that empowers young women in Asia who have dreams of becoming leaders of social change in their communities. We identify young women from underprivileged communities who are in university or early professional life and provide them with inspiring, professional mentoring and financial support options so that they can access quality higher education and excel professionally and personally.

Your role
The Leadership Development Advisors will play a key role in the mentorship program, which is a core component of Wedu’s business model and a fundamental way to propel leadership development among the young women we empower (‘Rising Stars’) and their mentors. This role entails interacting with and building a relationship through various communication and program management channels with our Rising Stars and Mentors, while ensuring satisfaction and continuous learning through Wedu’s Leadership Development Program. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of Wedu and leadership development in Asia that combines process-oriented, customer-focused responsibilities with a personal, relational aspect. We are looking for a person with entrepreneurial spirit who is ready to take on an increasing level of responsibility and autonomy as Wedu grows. In particular the role involves:
Program & Customer Management
- Cultivate and nurture relationships with your assigned Rising Stars/Mentors through email and regularly scheduled check-ins over the phone with your assigned pairs
- Respond promptly to your assigned Rising Stars’ and Mentors’ inquiries and issues
- Evaluate, manage and resolve Rising Star-Mentor challenges, with the guidance & support of the Leadership Development team
- Manage assigned Rising Stars’ and Mentors’ profiles by constantly tracking major updates; recording detailed inquiries, comments and challenges; reviewing their progress and updating all new information about that Rising Stars/Mentors to identify and understand each person’s progress in the Mentorship Program
- Contribute, implement and support the operational activities associated with mentorship
- Contributing to the team effort by accomplishing other tasks, as needed
Program Development
- Proactively offer ideas and insights to improve the overall customer experience, program effectiveness and efficiency
- Coordinate and collaborate with the Leadership Development team on new initiatives
- Monitor the quality of service delivery on a regular basis and develop solutions for addressing gaps and areas for improvement
- Contribute to problem-solving of the mentorship program and its processes to ensure an effective, quality program
- Contribute, implement and support mentor recruitment strategies
- Contribute to preparation of learning and communication material for mentors, mentees and partners

Do you have what it takes?
Qualifications:
- At least 2-5 years of previous work experience in a similar role, and a desire to grow in a mentoring, advisory, counseling and/or coaching capacity, with work experience in developing countries and/or the Asia region a plus
- Entrepreneurial spirit, leadership skills and a commitment to promote social change and emerging female leaders from underprivileged communities throughout the region
- University degree or above in Psychology, Social Work, HR or a similar field with excellent speaking and writing skills in English
- Analytical skills, inquisitive nature, problem-solving ability and attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal skills with a natural cross-cultural sensitivity, professionalism and ability to manage a diverse with patience and humility
- Self-starter with strong work ethic; ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Proficiency in MS Word, Powerpoint, Excel; familiarity with CRM a plus
- Thai nationals are particularly encouraged to apply; strong preference for applicants who are already residing in Thailand
Organizational arrangements
We expect from you a minimum commitment of 12 months with a four month trial period. This may be a full-time or part-time position, with a strong preference for those who are already based in Bangkok.
Wedu is looking for several candidates to fill this position, who will be expected to start as soon as possible, or no later than November 1, 2015. You will receive competitive pay based on your qualifications and Thai living standards, as well as private health insurance and work permit sponsorship, where applicable, and you will have access to the Wedu network of experts and advisers, who have extensive experience in the development of social enterprises.
