Who is Wedu?
Wedu is a social enterprise that empowers young women in Asia who have dreams of becoming leaders of social change in their communities. We identify young women from underprivileged communities who are in university or early professional life and provide them with inspiring, professional mentoring and financial support options so that they can access quality higher education and excel professionally and personally.
We believe the young women we support to be Rising Stars in their communities and enable them to reach their full potential in life. The community we are creating has the power to achieve large-scale social impact.
Your role
The Operations and Outreach Coordinator plays a key role in the design, preparation and execution of effective operations and outreach strategies as it pertains to the growth of Wedu and the number of Rising Stars we empower. This role involves interacting with multiple stakeholders, including growing and sustaining strong partnerships with like-minded educational institutions and organizations (‘Talent Spotters’) across the region. It offers a unique opportunity to shape scalable strategies for Wedu so that outreach, selection and funding operations can grow and be replicated in other countries where we are present. We are looking for a person with an entrepreneurial spirit and eagerness to take on increasing levels of responsibility and autonomy as Wedu expands. In particular, the role involves:
Outreach & Partnership Development

- Identifying and developing new, innovative partnerships and improved engagement strategies with a variety of educational institutions and organizations, via professional Skype conversations and face-to-face meetings
- Implementing new initiatives and creating new materials to grow and improve the outreach strategies and partnerships across the region, with the aim of improving the overall quality of outreach
- Conducting, promoting and overseeing Wedu Leadership Development Workshops, both remotely and in-country
Selection & Funding Management
- Coordinating the Rising Star selection process by cultivating ongoing relationships with the Wedu Community and overseeing the coordination of logistics, data analysis, system development and process improvements
- Managing the Rising Star funding process by communicating with Rising Stars and leading the application review, decision-making and awarding processes
Department Management
- Leading regular department check-ins and development needs, supervising the performance of the team, and identifying key department initiatives and opportunities for improvement
- Contributing to the development of the organization by collaborating with other departments to identify and implement strategic and tactical improvements
- Creating and reviewing supporting operations documents, both for internal and external use
- Contributing to the team effort by accomplishing other tasks, as needed
