WFTO Asia: Gender Working Group Intern
This internship position offers you to work in a in a multi-cultural environment. The main responsibilities are to train in gender, understand how a regional network of not for profit organisations is represented and to understand the objectives of the World Fair Trade Organization, especially principle 6: Gender Equity. Furthermore, coordinating the communications to Asian WFTO Members of the gender working group is also part of the job. You will be working closely with Sujata Goswami from India, Rayhan Kabir from Bangladesh and the WFTO-Asia office represented by the communications coordinator.
Principle responsibilities
Train in and understand principle 6: Gender Equity and its implementation of the WFTO Asia.
The aim of the WFTO-Asia Gender working group will be to facilitate the implementation of Principle 6 within the Fair Trade Organisations of Asia, Specifically to work in the member countries in Asia region of WFTO to:
1) Map the level of implementation of the Principle 6 in member organizations.
2) Identify the country specific/regional challenges in implementation.
3) Discuss & draft strategies to best implement the principle.

Outputs
Placements of students and volunteers wanting work experience with Fair Trade Organizations to the mutual benefit of both parties.
Qualifications minimum
Degree in relevant subject, e.g. gender studies, development studies or relevant working experience.
Place of work and hours
Working remotely for a minimum period of at least 6 months. Priority will be given to Asian applications and those individual able to commit to a year and four hours a week. With three months probationary period. This internship will receive no financial support.
