Organizational Context and Scope

Under the overall guidance of the Project Manager, and the direct supervision of the

Project Officer, the incumbent will be responsible for assisting in the implementation of the Assisted Voluntary Return and Reintegration (AVRR) Programme for stranded migrants in Thailand.

 

Responsibilities and Accountabilities

The successful candidate is expected to carry out the following duties and responsibilities in accordance with strictest ethical standards and with due respect for gender and socio-cultural sensitivities:

Assist in coordinating with various agencies, Royal Thai Government counterparts, the Embassy of Bangladesh and other relevant embassies and IOM missions to provide return assistance to stranded migrants in Thailand, including special cases such as victims of trafficking (VOT) and un-accompanied minor children (UMC).

Work collaboratively with the other AVRR Project Assistants, interpreters, and other units within IOM, particularly the Operations Unit.

Interview stranded migrants to confirm their eligibility for and interest in voluntarily returning to their country of origin, including the completion of all administrative documents.

Register all the case information into IOM’s MiMOSA case management database.

Assist in coordinating all pre-departure & travel arrangements including air ticket, onward travel, obtaining travel documents, and processing departure formalities.

Record and update the MiMOSA database of the beneficiaries, and assist in maintaining a statistical overview of departures.

Provide supplies, travel documents and NFIs before departure to the beneficiaries.

Provide periodic weekly progress updates to the supervisor and/or Project Manager.

Handle financial and administrative tasks as requested.

Perform such other duties as may be assigned. 

 

Qualifications

Thai national;

University Degree in Humanities, Business Administration, Political Science, Social Sciences, or relevant field;

Strong organizational and time management skills;

Ability to work in a multi‐cultural environment and respect diversity;

At least two years of work experience in migration issues for non‐governmental organizations, international governmental organizations or government institutions;

Sound knowledge of programme implementation and evaluation and familiarity with financial and business administration;

Team work oriented but with a capacity to work independently;

Excellent writing and communication skills;

Computer literate;

Fluency in Thai and English language is required. Knowledge of Bengali or other languages spoken from minority groups in Myanmar is a strong asset.

Organizational Context and Scope

Under the overall supervision of the Senior Resource Management Officer and direct supervision of the ITC Coordinator, the incumbent will be tasked to provide ITC support services to all users in IOM Thailand.
 

Responsibilities and Accountabilities

The successful candidate will have the following duties and responsibilities:

Provide end-user ITC support to all IOM staff in Thailand

Install, configure, and upgrade software required for the operations in the office (Windows, MS office, Antivirus, etc)

Receive, test and install ITC devices (Computer, Smart phone, IP phone etc.).

Provide training to end users on applications such as MS Office, Windows Operating system, and other IOM standard application software, etc.

Maintain and update records of IT equipment as part of the access control management.

Assist in maintaining and updating user records as part of the Account Management of users, including account creation for new staff, and the clearance for departing staff.

Provide technical support for phone and video conferences, and remote meetings.

Assist in the maintenance of servers and LAN.

Maintain IT inventory and documentation.

Assist the ITC Coordinator in providing training to end users on various IOM database applications.

Assist procurement unit in the purchases of IT equipment or IT related items.

Perform such other duties as may be assigned.

 

 

Education and Experience

Completed university degree in Computer Sciences or relevant field with specialized formal training on IT systems, business software (Microsoft Office) and web‐based applications. Valid Microsoft and/or Cisco Certifications an advantage (MCSA, MCSE, MCITP, etc.).

Minimum two years of relevant experience supporting medium sized offices in a Microsoft technology environment with relevant skills to support and troubleshoot desktop, laptop and network equipment and Microsoft Office applications, TCP/IP Networking, and Windows operating systems.

Good knowledge of TCP/IP, network protocols and Ethernet cabling.

Ability to work in a team environment; able to initiate and manage group studies to learn more about supporting the current infrastructure.

Ability to present ideas in a user‐friendly language to non‐technical staff and end‐users.

Able to work under minimal supervision and strive for high‐quality results.

Excellent communication skills; strong interpersonal and organizational skills.

Ability to handle confidential data in a professional and responsible manner.

Fluency in English and Thai.
