Project Review & Strategic Planning Workshop
Background
The USAID Civil Society Partnerships project (CSPP) of the Center for Civil Society and Nonprofit Management (CSNM), Khon Kaen University, seeks to advance professionalism and leadership of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) in Thailand as well as the Lower Mekong Sub-region countries namely Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, and Vietnam, to solve increasing challenges faced by CSO and to ensure maximum impact and contribute to sustainable development. CSPP works to achieve the following goal and objectives: There are two main objectives under the framework of CSPP project which include
1) To strengthen Professionalism of CSOs to carry out oversight responsibilities
2) To expand platforms for CSOs to engage each other and policy makers on issue related to strategy, advocacy and operation
CSNM will organize a project review and strategic planning workshop for project staff members, CSNM board members, USAID and relevant stakeholders during 8-10 December in Khon Kaen.
CSPP has been in operation since September 2014. As part of the project’s effort to ensure effectiveness, efficiency and relevance, it is expected that the project review and strategic workplan exercise will help assessing performance, identifying gaps and opportunities and inform future planning and adjustments. This exercise will also aim at strengthening interpersonal relationship, developing team spirit and improving communication and working skills of the team.
In this connection, CSNM would like to engage a consulting service provider to assist CSNM in the design, organize and facilitation of the workshop based on solicited ideas and expectations of CSNM and USAID team. There are 15-20 team members to participate in the workshop during 8-10 December in Khon Kaen.
Objectives
Review the project’s strategy, performance and progress
Solicit and consolidate concrete ideas for future planning and adjustments which will inform subsequent strategic planning of the project
Improve team communication, develop team spirit and strengthen interpersonal relationship

Before the workshop

Participants:
The workshop will have 15-20 participants from CSNM, board members, USAID, Khon Kaen University and relevant stakeholders.
6. Timelines
The project review & strategic planning workshop and team building exercise will be held on Dec 8-10, 2015. However it is expected that the service provider will engage in the activity before and after the workshop. . The service provider should mention number of days required for all of the deliverables in their proposal.
Personnel/Qualification
Any legally registered organization, business company, NGO and academic institution are welcomed to apply.
Minimum 5-year experience in design and organize management and organization development training with expertise in strategic planning and leadership management
Experience in consultancy work with multi-national organizations, inter-government organizations and business companies is a plus
Evidence on past events managed
The workshop will be conducted in English. However, there will be a need for the facilitator to communicate both in Thai and English in certain circumstances.
Roles and responsibilities of the parties
CSNM will cover the meeting package including lunches and snacks during the workshop. The service provider will be responsible for costs of personnel, communications, IT equipment, stationeries and materials to be used at the workshop.
The service provider will work under supervision of the Chief of Party of the CSPP.

9. Remuneration
The contract will be paid in installments: 30% upon signing of the contract; 70 % after the workshop and submission of the narrative and financial report to CSNM
