The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) seeks to appoint a:
Title: Intern for South East Asia Online Library
Reports to: Knowledge and Information Management Officer
Duration: 3 months (December 2015 to February 2016, Monday to Friday)
Background and Purpose:
South-East Asia RCRC societies online library (https://sites.google.com/site/drrtoolsinsoutheastasia/), established since 2012, is a Knowledge and Information Management initiative to support the Regional Community Safety and Resilience Forum (including DRR, Health, OD and the cross-cutting components of Gender and Diversity, Youth and Volunteers, Disaster Law, Humanitarian Diplomacy, Climate change adaptation, etc.).
The online library further profiles the Movement’s work (and resources) in the region for non-RCRC partners and counterparts, such as ASEAN and respective National Disaster Management Offices, as well as providing resources on our collective engagement with these partners, and resources from them, which would guide our active engagement.
In order to address some shortcomings in functionality of the current platform of the online library (not user-friendly, not allowing different levels of accessibility, and integration with social media), the Southeast Asia regional delegation in Bangkok is working to prepare and roll-out an improved online platform, that will respond better to the rationale of the online library.
