Position Summary:
The Workshop Facilitator will work collaboratively with the Mekong Partnership for the Environment (MPE), to provide support in two upcoming workshops: one in Cambodia in late January 2016, and another in Bangkok in May 2016. S/he is responsible to facilitate the workshop, lead the development the training plan, and fulfill reporting requirements after the workshop, under the supervision of the MPE’s CSO Capacity Development Advisor.
Primary Duties include:
Prepare and facilitate the two-part Strategic Communications Workshop to be held in Cambodia in late January 2016 and Bangkok in May 2016.
Work closely with MPE on developing the training plan, training preparation and facilitation tasks.
Fulfill reporting requirements, within 10 days after each event: Training Report
The consultant will undertake tasks to support and facilitate the following events (with approximate time for each task):
Strategic Communications Workshop: Packaging and Communicating Information Location: Cambodia and Bangkok
Prepare, conduct, and consolidate results of Training Needs Analysis (2 days)
Prepare the training plan, curriculum and materials (2 days)
Facilitate the workshop, including travel to site (5 days X 2)
Final report and packaging of curriculum materials (1 day X 2)
DURATION OF ASSIGNMENT
The time required for the consultancy is estimated within the period from January 2016 to May 2016.
EDUCATION AND ABILITITIES
Tertiary degree in a relevant field such as, environmental studies, communications, public relations, journalism or a related field
A minimum of 5 years experience in creating and implementing strategic communications strategies, and facilitating workshops on the topic
Experience with curriculum development/training design highly desirable; previous training experience desirable
Experience using mixed media including television, radio and print as well as the web, video and social media preferred
Ability to adapt strategic communications principles to a wide variety of external communications challenges
Extensive working knowledge of international development communications outreach initiatives, and familiarity of development issues in the Mekong Region
Strong facilitation and inter-personal skills
Organized with the ability to handle multiple deadlines and a variety of tasks
Excellent writing and editing skills
High level of proficiency in verbal and written English required. Language skills in Thai, Vietnamese, or Khmer would be an advantage.
High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office and web applications.

Payment will be made upon submission and satisfactory deliverables as indicated below:
