The ICRC regional delegation in Bangkok provides assistance to victims of violence and works with authorities in order to improve the conditions in detention facilities. It also endeavours to promote and to strengthen humanitarian law and universal humanitarian principles.
We are looking for a
Senior Driver / Junior Logistics officer , based in Bangkok
As a team member of Logistics Department, our main task is to provide the humanitarian logistics support to fulfil the ICRC operations in Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam.
Your main responsibilities
• Drives different types of light ICRC vehicles by strictly following internal security and national traffic rules
• Transports people and/or material
• Checks equipment on attributed cars, ensures proper fuelling and cleaning
• Moves independently in difficult security environments
• When in the field gather information needed for ICRC activities and security
• Carries out routine driving duties and requested errands as instructed and under supervision of the Logistics Responsible
• Completes maintenance routines and can be involved in the more simpler diagnostics and running repairs
• Manages the transportation with ICRC vehicle fleet or outsourced transport in accordance with operational needs and in compliance with the required standards as determined by GVA HQ
• Assist in various logistics functions (purchasing, warehousing, import/export, and fleet activities)
Your education and experience
• Good driving skills with working experience as a professional driver
• A valid Thai driver’s license for at least 5 years with clean records is essential
• Excellent knowledge of the geographically assigned environment especially in Bangkok
Your profile
• Flexible, able to work after hours, weekends and public holidays, at short notice, if required
• An ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Good spoken and written skills in Thai and English
• Basic mechanical skills
• Strong sense of responsibility and adaptability
