HelpAge International is a global network of not-for-profit organisations. HelpAge’s mission is to work with our partners to ensure that people everywhere understand how much older people contribute to society and that they must enjoy their right to healthcare, social services and economic and physical security. Programme work includes building and strengthening CSOs, community development work, particularly in the areas of income generation, revolving community funds, health and care, and rights; as well as disaster risk reduction work. Advocacy around the social protection of older people, pensions and care is also carried out at local, national and regional levels.
The East Asia/Pacific Regional Office (EAPRO) is now looking for a “Regional Programme Funding Officer” based in Chiang Mai, Thailand (Initial 2 year-contract renewable)
The EAPRO supports work in Thailand; Myanmar; Vietnam; Cambodia; Laos; Philippines; and potential future work in Indonesia and Malaysia. The post brings some possibilities of short term travels in the region.
Key Responsibilities:
Proposal development, Reporting and grant management oversight
Maintain an overview/understanding of regional donors, trends, fundraising schedules and lead on fundraising planning and strategy development
Support the development of consortiums and partnerships with other NGOs and other organisations in line with annual plans and strategies
Data management and system compliance
Qualifications:
Essential
Thai national with excellent command of spoken and written English
Experience in fund-raising or liaising with foreign donors
Organisation and work planning skills
Understanding of financial information
Culture awareness and sensitivity and strong communication skills
IT knowledge, including database
Desirable
Experience in reporting to institutional donors
Experience in developing and/or reviewing budgets
Experience using programme design tools
Experience working in the development/humanitarian sector
Experience facilitating meetings and/or training
Educated to degree level
Understanding of Development/Humanitarian issues
