Medical Coordinator (1)
Duty Station: Mae Sariang town, Mae Hong Son province
Work locations: Mae Sariang, Mae Ra Ma Luang and Mae La Oon Temporary Refugee Shelters
Main Responsibilities/Duties
1.Provide coordination and overall supervision of health services in the two target camps;
2.Provide specific technical support and guidance on medical technical issues to staff;
3.Lead all health staff in internal regular meetings/forums to coordinate the different groups to address common concerns and coordination of staff and services;
4.Lead referral services and referral policy review to ensure cost-effective management and compliance of referral services.
5.Support pharmacy supervisor in preparing medical drugs and supply orders (in terms of appropriateness and quality) and ensure that medical stocks are properly managed;
6.Take a lead role in outbreak situations in the camps with SRRT focal person & other staff;
7.Ensure all relevant HIS and Indicator data is collected and analyzed correctly;
8.Contribute to the preparation and writing of timely and accurate donor reports;
9.Represent the office in medical/health-focused meetings, forums and similar events;
10.Provide regular internal reports as well as specific reports as instructed to Thai authorities.
Essential Qualifications/Skills:
1.Medical Doctor with registration in his/her own home country
2.At least 3-5 years of experience in managerial position in a humanitarian setting (preferably w/ previous experience in Thai-Myanmar refugee shelters), rural setting, refugee setting.
3.Excellent knowledge of Outbreak Response protocols.
4.Previous experience and strong ability to plan medical stock with minimum wastage & stock-out.
5.Excellent medical clinical skills and proven experience of such skills.
6.Organizational, managerial, and diplomatic skills
7.Strong teaching, training, and supervision skills
8.Fluent in English and Burmese language, Karen language is considered an advantage
9.Knowledge of Burma Border Guideline (BBG) for health care in the refugee shelters on the Thai-Myanmar border is considered an advantage
