JOB TITLE: Project Officer
TEAM/PROGRAMME: Thailand Programme LOCATION: Phang Nga province
Type of Contract: 1 year (with possible extension pending funding)
CHILD SAFEGUARDING:
Level 3 – The responsibilities of the post may require the post holder to have regular contact with or access to children or young people.
ROLE PURPOSE:
The I-Lift Project Officer will support the Thai government’s capacity to provide effective legal procedures, and strengthen the civil society network that will support the government in gathering information.
SCOPE OF ROLE:
Reports to: Senior Field Coordinator or Project Coordinator (Child Protection)

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
The Project Officer will be closely working with local partners under the direction of Field Coordinator/ Child Protection Coordinator, Senior Social Worker and Child Protection Specialist:
· Assess and monitor the daily situation of the migrant children in the five shelters and where relevant.
· Timely report the situation of the children and plan response accordingly in consultation with the Child Protection Team.
· Effectively coordinate and work together with legal team and other organizations (HRDF, IOM, UNHCR, Migrant Working Group, and the Government) who support the psychosocial well-being and the provision of legal processes and justice system of the migrants and victims of trafficking in the government shelters.
· Document the provision of legal assistance process for children and adult victims of trafficking and share with the Child Protection Team as well as the government.
· Working closely with the SCI Child protection team particularly other officers working in the Andaman Response, the Child Protection Coordinator, and the Child Protection Specialist
· Prepare detailed action plan based on the project proposal and timely implement the action plan or the activities stipulated in the project with an innovative and creative approach.
· Prepare quality and timely 6-month, annual report and other supporting documents as required.

QUALIFICATIONS
Essentials
Thai National
Bachelor’s degree on social science/social work or related to child protection or education
· Proven ability to work independently
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and administrative skills
· Demonstrate good project co-ordination/management and facilitation skills
- At least 2 years of experience ideally in development, education management, or other related fields. An in depth understanding of national and international issues in particular in relation to child protection and education is an advantage
- Ability and willingness to work in remote areas and work in multi-cultural environment
· Good command of English language.
Desirable
· Ability and experience in delivering training
· Experience in financial administration
· Experiences in working in refugee camps. Ability to speak and write Burmese or Bengali language would be an advantage
