【Overview】

            JICA is a Japanese independent administrative agency which aims to contribute to the promotion of international cooperation as well as the sound development of Japanese and global economy by supporting the socioeconomic development, recovery or economic stability of developing regions. JICA is not a private organization for aiming at making profit.             JICA has been implementing social and economic development projects in various sectors in Thailand by extending development instruments such as yen loan, technical cooperation, public-private partnership and volunteer program in the framework of Official Development Assistance (ODA). JICA Thailand is in a position to formulate, implement and monitor those projects and volunteer activities in collaboration with Thai government and Japanese organizations concerned such as Japan Embassy, consultants, academic institutions, and private sectors. At present, JICA carries out more than 20 projects in the sector such as urban transportation, urban planning, environment, agriculture, health etc., and more than 40 volunteers in a field of Japanese Language, Rehabilitation and human resources development in Industrial Sector are working from north to south regions in Thailand.  

 

            JICA Thailand is composed of four sections; general affairs, volunteer program, project operation, and accounting/ procurement sections. Applicants are expected to be assigned in one of those sections depending on their interest and suitability.  JICA is planning to provide a new employee on-the-job training (OJT) during the probation period (normally 3 or 4 months) in rotating the four sections in order for the employee and JICA to look into which section for him/ her will be the most suitable. If the employee is assigned in either volunteer program or project operation section, he/she will be titled as program officer. If he/she is assigned in general affairs or accounting/ procurement officer, he/she will be titled as administrative officer. However, the employee might be possibly asked from management staff to take charge of dual assignment like 80% of the total duty as program officer in volunteer section/or project operation section and 20% of the duty as administrative officer in general affairs section etc.

【Job Description】

Formulate new project (loan, technical cooperation etc.) /volunteer activities

Monitor the implementation of on-going project/ volunteer activities

Evaluate the project and volunteer activities

 

(Duties and Responsibilities)

Prepare necessary documents in formulating, monitoring and implementing the project/ volunteer activities

Communicate Thai counterparts (mainly Thai government officials) and Japanese experts and volunteers and discuss them, what should be done and how to be done in formulating, monitoring and implementing the project/ volunteer activities

Prepare domestic/international travel documents

Interpret between Japanese and Thai counterparts in Japanese and Thai language (This task is mainly happened in volunteer section.)

Arrange a meeting or reception with Thai counterparts

The other related work

 

Handle the general affairs and administrative task of the office

General Affairs in JICA Thailand office includes office administrative work, public relations, security and safety management for JICA members, IT management, Document Administration and Health Management for JICA Members etc.

 

(Duties and Responsibilities)

Prepare necessary documents in general affairs section.

Monitor visa information of Japanese staff members, experts and volunteers, and take necessary procedures for making visa effective.

Arrange hotels and transportations for both business travelers from Japan and travelers to Japan.

Negotiate and update corporate rate of hotel.

Collect security/safety related issues and report them to management staff.

Coordination and necessary check-up of IT system in the office.

Prepare the list of travelers (both in-bound to BKK and out-bound from BKK)

Do necessary work of document management such as registration of official documents sent from JICA HQs.

Undertake necessary support and actions in case of emergency

Accompany health administrator in business trip for the purpose of hospital survey. Interpret if necessary.

Undertake necessary procedures in public relation activities.

Other related to work.

 

【Qualifications】

Bachelor degree or Master degree

Understand well the significance of working at public organization (not at profit-making private company) which is a Japanese independent administrative agency which aims to contribute to the promotion of international cooperation between Japan and Thailand.  

Have interest in strengthen partnership and relations between Japan and Thailand.

Have English skill in listening, speaking, reading and writing at the level that can be used to understand the related documents and handle the support works (equivalent to the  level of TOEIC scores not less than 730)

Have Japanese skill in listening, speaking, reading and writing at the level that can be used to understand the related documents, communicate with Japanese staff and handle the support works (preferably JLPT N2 level)

Have Microsoft Word and Excel skill

Have more than 3-year experience in doing administrative work in private companies or governmental organizations.

Have good ability and communication to work in team

Have good health and, and without any physical condition which could be obstacle to the duty performance.

Able to travel without hesitation (In volunteer section, domestic travel is arranged once every week during the peak period of work.)

Able to work in holiday in case of emergencies
